As a refresher (and for you newbies), my brother in law owns a pumpkin patch in eastern Illinois, about two hours away from us. Every year for the last ten years, he and his kids have sneaked over to our house in the middle of the night and "pumpkined" our front yard. This has always happened before Halloween, but because the kids are grown and gone, this year it didn't happen. Now we don't mind NOT having to get rid of hundreds (one year I counted 987) of pumpkins, but our yard did look very sad on October 31st. Even some of the trick or treaters noticed. Jeff and I thought that this tradition had finally come to an end.

I guess since his daughters are back from college, "The Great Pumpkin (turned Turkey)" struck this year. Better late than never, right? Here are some photos of what we woke up to this morning.
