also, they could have sold it last week as that is way my other buddy had in CASH in his pocket, but Steve Blew that chance!


Once again, glad that you got it because my other buddy is buying a 2009 Yamaha Raider now and is very excited about it (although he is buying from Rochester Motorsports and NOT from Freedom)

I still love Freedom as my shop!

I'm glad he didn't get this bike . I'll get to know the bike first and maybe some new front springs will be in my future -- thanks for the advice.

I think he'll find the Raider an awesome cruiser.

We'll see how things go on service from Freedom.

Don't put the anxiety of "post buyers remorse" or did I pay too much. It sounds like you got a great bike and a couple years from now after many miles of enjoyment you will not give it another minutes thought.. Enjoy, sounds like a great bike, well set up, so ride ride ride.

Good advice. No post buyers remorse here. At this point who cares. From what I can see here, this bike came from a good home and I hope to give it another good home. I'm hoping to ride the heck out of it for the next few days.

I was only off by about $200 and that's a small amount to recover in fun, etc. -- no biggie . My wife is not so big on the fact it has miles -- but I'm a high mileage rider and I hope to rack up some serious mileage myself. My Vstar has almost 20K and I bought it Nov '07.

It's so cool that the previous owner is here so I have a place to go if I have some prior history questions. Also, this forum is just plain helpful and friendly :thumbup:.

I hope to pick it up tomorrow (first sunny day in weeks). I'm hoping my boss will let me have the day off.

I almost picked it up to day to ride it in the rain home (almost 40 miles) but the rain continued to get worse and I kept thinking about slick new tires in the rain . It's all good because I still took my Vstar to work in the rain.

Well, turns out I'm the new owner of this bike :cheer:.

I ended up paying $5600 OTD (including title fees, etc). I'll pick it up when it's not raining.

They've got new tires on there that need scrubbing and I don't think wet roads are the best place for that.

I was targetting $5300 as done deal and went up to $5400 because the bike seemed good. The bike looked great and when I sat on it, it felt like home -- those grips and seat really did it for me. You already had the frame sliders, tank pad and Puig shield (which I would've had to buy) and that underbelly thing (which I love but would not have bought after I saw the prices). Plus, that dark blue has always been my favorite color. The blackened out passenger pegs are awesome (so I don't have to remove them to "clean up" the back of the bike).
I think you said you did the dual headlight mod to which I would've done and you are anal about keeping the bike maintained and clean. The new tires were nice to have and gives the bike the "new" feel. Plus, I dreaded "break in" period.

The only bad thing was a few scratches on the right peg heel guard (I'll be sure to put some of my own ) and the scratches on the rear paint (behind the passenger seat area where he said you had a touring bag).

All in all, this bike looked great, was setup to what I like and I wanted it. Plus all of you here saying good things about that previous owner didn't hurt. So, take your $200 and keep it 'cause I'm walking away with a sweet bike. I can only justify the $200 by saying, if I would've gotten a new 2008, I would've had to shop on ebay, etc. and wait for the USPS, FedEx, or UPS to deliver, installation, etc. But it's all there. Maybe I might need a handlebar Ram mount. Plus, they took my personal check and so I didn't have to go to the bank, etc.

Anyway, I'm cool with $5600 -- not sure it's a great deal but doesn't feel too bad and the bike rocks. Oh, yea, it's already broken in, so after a little practice, I look forward to playing with her. Still have to come up with a name after I get know her personally.

BTW, in the end, I almost walked, but I dealt with the sale manager Rod and that helped things a lot.

I'm pretty excited. Now to download the user manual and figure this thing out well before I first ride it .

You bought it right. No need to second guess whether or not it was a deal. 7000 miles doesn't mean squat on this motor. I dont think even William Shatner could have done better
