The other day i was riding home from work on tuesday and some stupid woman turned in to my lane and tagged the right side of my bike. the force caused the bike the just drop. went down at 60 mph and got lucky to walk away with a knee that looked like a cheese grater had just shredded it cause the freeway has grooves in it. bike is still rideable just all cosmetic damage.

Aw dude, that sucks. Did you die? ;)

Don't worry man. The bike still rides, and cheese grated knees heal. (Trust me) Fix your bike, find some armored pants, and get back on the horse. All 92 of em. :D And next time, pretend you're invisible, and keep the rubber side down.

If you need help fixing stuff, look around and ask around. Lot's of info on here.

nope still alive!but the chick who hit me took off and trust me i cant wait to get back on the horse once i can bend my knee again. ill ask around i just need a new front cowling for it and then itll be good.and ill keep the rubber side down next time

She tagged you and took OFF?! Unreal.
Definitely lucky to walk away from a crash at that speed. Glad it wasn't any worse.

do yourself a favor and get yourself a helmet cam. It's part of ATGATT.

Sorry to hear about the crash, but glad you came out of it relatively ok. People really suck these days. Sure accidents happen, but people need to own up to them. I sure hope some other drivers stopped to offer assistance.

yes some people stopped and even one lady went and tried to get the license plate number but she got the wrong car. oh well life goes on just cant ride for about 2 weeks so not bad

Ouch! Cheese Grader, yeah, not fond of those grooves. Did you have any riding pants on with knee pads? 60mph, that hurts. Hope you had contact with the vehicle so she is held fully responsible for your claim.

Did you use your horn? Perfect scenario to use it if someone decides to make a bad lane change. Most people will say that they didn't have a chance to use it, but in reality, if you practice and practice using your horn while you swerve, it will become automatic. Or at least have it covered.

That sucks. The 163 sucks. Glad you are OK, well besides your knee.

What part of the 163? The two lane area near the park or farther north?

Sorry to hear about your fall. Please make sure you still go the doctor to get that knee checked out. If you are already reporting trouble bending it, you should probably get some xrays and do some physical therapy. If the doctor deams it necessary, even an MRI would be warranted given the speed and nature of the fall. There are lots of soft tissue structures that could have been damaged that you may not notice while it's still all swollen like this.

The other day I had someone try to move over in my lane like this too. I gave her a good honk, but she decided to move over anyway. Thankfully I had enough room to swerve over to avoid her and give her a dirty look (seeing as how I was literally right next to her window during this). She has the audacity to pull up next to me at the next light and start yelling at me for honking at her! Some people just have no road manners...:spank:

yea i did use it.... her car hit my right bar end and the handle bar just went like i was trying to make a left and thats when the bike just went down cause between that and me trying to swerve

yea i went to the hospital i got 17 stitches and 3 tubes of glue on it to kinda put it back together but it was kinda cool to see my muscles move everytime the doctor bent my knee

Man that sucks, but any wreck that you can walk away from is a good one, if there is such a thing. And the fact the bike is still rideable is an added bonus.

Hope they catch that hit and run cager and throw the book at her.

Funny thing is I left a note on his gas tank last week to say hi and join the forum if he wasn't a member....
Sorry to hear about this. Heal-up quick so we can ride! :BLAA:

Just for future reference, if someone tried to changed into my lane and I kicked her mirror, would I fall off?

Well.. Kenny always promotes practicing any given move to build muscle memory. SO.. find a lot, get someone to stand in the middle and hold up a target of some sort. Ride toward it and kick it... practice often.. and I bet when someone does eventually merge into your lane you'll be able to execute a perfect kick without crashing!!

(just kidding of course)

Lol....

I've kicked someone's mirror off once.....he deserved it too....*******.

He was stationary and I "lanced" it off the kicking movement was very minimal. So muscle memory is not really something to worry about....it's all a matter of aim....

Man I am glad you are ok! I used to live in San Diego and cheese grater is the right description of the 163! I hope you heal up soon!
