Run off the road

Headed out for a strap this arvo and there was a turbo toy cruise on. Obviously these turbo vehicles are wider than an ordinary car, as they seem to have trouble staying in their lane:eyebrow::disapprove:.

Ran the Gauntlet of Lobie road and turned off up Deviation road, only to be forced off the road by a green Honda Civic ( I think ). They didn't stop to see if I was OK. They started their corner on my side of the road and finished on my side of the road:banghead:. I managed to dodge so as not to become a hood ornament, but alas, was way off line and late into the corner so I had to lay it down or take out a fence.

Not a scratch on me and my gear is still good, but my tank didn't fare so well.

I'll hold off on the rant. I'd like to thank a couple of my riding buddies for hopping straight in and helping me get a couple bits and pieces sorted so I'm only left with a tank repair and one of the engine covers to fix for now. Good riding buddies rock:rockon:. Thanks Jamie and Gary:thumbup:.

This is the second time in a month or so that I've nearly been cleaned up out in the hills. Both times during the day.

Stay vigilant. They are all out to get you.

Now a quick word on gear. As I hit the deck, I actually thought to myself, "Wow, I hardly felt that, this stuff is great." Not a scratch on me:bow:.

After getting my bike up and onto the road again and figuring out my brake lever was all twisted up I gave up on chasing the offending vehicle down, as I'd never find them. I am going to have to get the snapped off piece of tripod out of my camera so I can mount it on the bike. As you can imagine I really would liked to have had some footage of this attempted murder.

Bike's still Ok to ride, so it's not all bad news, and I didn't damage the fence:thumbup:.

Was riding alone today. There are a couple houses just there but with the run of hot weather we've been having everyone is staying indoors in front of air cons.

Just a few weeks back when I blew out my knee the people who nearly killed me just took off and I thought that was bad. This time I came off my bike and they just kept driving. I'm not going to rant...I'm not going to rant.

Oh Mike....you know my opinion on this one...So glad your ok, gear did it's job, those trillions of hours you spend in the saddle probably helped you avoid a much messier fate too.

As for the driver of the car, it has all been said already...i think it's time we started writing letters to editors re the state of play!

As for the tank...Gary & myself have found a good crash repairer that will fix all of our cager caused tank blemishes for a very reasonable price...like a couple of hundred dollars...and it aint a bog job they are talking about...a proper fix.

Mate, have been dodging maniacs for 25 years now....it has got worse though recently, more cars on the roads that seem to have little or no awareness of the dangers they pose to motorbike riders.

Maybe we should put them all ninto some leathers and chuck them at a car travelling at 60km/h...once they have recovered from their injuries...they might just understand a little better, why they need to take more care...us bike riders have family's too, and i dont think we should have to stop riding cause of our fear of getting knocked off, and leaving our kids without a parent!

Dont reckon the OEM horn would help...cant hear it more than 2 metres away with the bike running, even with OEM pipes.

Stebel horn is a great idea, Mike & Me have both been talking about getting one, but when they are coming straight at ya, i dont reckon a horn would help!

Didn't know you guys still have the stock horn on. Highly recommend getting the stebel air horn. You willl find exuses to use it, it's so ear piercing loud that it's becomes funny.
