Rizoma rear set brake light problem

I received my Rizoma rear sets the other day from PJ's (woot PJ's rules :rockon, but I have a small problem with getting the brake light switch to work for the rear break lever and need help from those of you that have done this mod.

The problem I'm having is with the angle that the switch has with the spring. Because I can't angle the switch/spring properly, when the brake is pressed, the spring doesn't pull on the switch correctly as it should.

I'm curious to know what others have done. I see in a post from DefyInertia that he drilled a hole in the side in order to mount the brake light switch bracket in a different position. http://www.600riders.com/forum/fz6-general-discussion/1705-bike-house-rizoma-rearsets-pics.html

I have an idea to use a L-bracket (see pic below), but before doing all that I would like to hear back from you all that have done this mod.

I would be lery about putting material against the master cylinder. The last thing you want is the bracket rubbing that hose. Its hard to tell by your pictures, it helps to see it in person, but I would spend some more time thinking of options to mount off the rear set and not the master cylinder.

My idea of using the L-bracket wouldn't be to fit it on top of the master cylinder but under it against the Rizoma rear set spacer that comes with.

I have the same problem. PJ suggested rotating the bracket 180 degrees, but that still didn't work. I am going to look for a different size spring and see if that works or try this.

I too tried rotating 180 but didn't work for me either. I bought a bigger spring (as seen in my photo) but the angle is to great for the switch to retract.

How does that Brake Light Pressure Switch from PJ's supposed to work?

Problem solved as my idea worked!!!! :rockon: :cheer: :rockon: :cheer:

I made a bracket out of some metal that I found a work.

BEFORE (without the bracket)

Just seeing this for the first time.

I didn't drill any holes but I bought my rearsets second hand. WHat hole are you talking about?

Looking at your picture you can see what looks to be a bolt or screw to the right of where the factory made hole is. Is that not the case?
