Hi,

I've just gotten myself a '04 FZ6. Beautiful bike, one downside: the previous owner hit a curb and the front wheel has quite a dent in it. You actually notice it doing 50 - 60 mph as slight vibration.

Does anyone know of a way of fixing that apart from beating it with a hammer? Anyone know a good machine shop?

Thanks,

Dieter

Have you considered buying a new one? The front wheel is pretty important.

I would take it to a few shops and just see what they have to say (some might not touch it, some might give an estimate).

Or...you can google wheel repair service because some places specialize in it.

are there any cracks in the aluminum? If so i would just search e-bay for FZ6 or R6 front wheels. they use the same rims and honestly it will probably be cheaper than fixing it.

A new one is $404 + Tax regular, I've seen it for $365

Ebay is an option, just wanted to hear other opinions abut it

Thanks!

Agree with the folks above, please don't try to repair it. A steel wheel can be bent back safely on a car, but not an aluminum one. A bike wheel would be even more critical.

I'd prefer a silver one, it goes better with the bike.
Does anyone know if an 05 wheel fits the 04 FZ?

Is there a list somewhere of compatible parts?

+1 with all the above, it has had a fair knock to damage it. Bin it and be safe.

5 spoke. I don't mind trying, I just want to save the hassle of buying and mounting and then hearing it's unsafe or illegal (sorry, I'm not quite at home yet with the concept of "if it fits it's legal" here in the US)
