i bought my bike used and was wondering 2 things...how hard is it to get another key made? (without the little metal tag)

have any other members found a PDF of our owner's manual online? im around 4,500 miles and want to know what the maint. schedule is for this FZ6

Do you still have one of the original keys? If So, you should be able to bring it to your local dealer and have another one cut without much issue. If not, I would suspect that the VIN could be traced to a key code but that is probably a question for the dealer as well.

Owners manuals can be downloaded directly from the Yamaha site (Here: My Yamaha Prompt - Owners Manual) You have to register your information and create a user account. Otherwise, it's just click and save.

you can also get the manuals for free from boneman's fz6 site Welcome to Boneman's FZ6 Site it is in the mods sections.

He also has the service manual aka the bible for your bike also 2007 is good for 2007-2009

Check the price of the key. Mine came with 1 black key (the other original was lost) and the tag.

I went to the Yamaha dealer to have an extra key made, they charged me like $10 for 2 plain silver keys. I didn't want plain so I bought 2 blue Yamaha keys on Ebay for $3.00 each (Ebay link) and had them both cut for $1.50 by my local Handy Hardware man. Call me picky but I just didn't want plain keys on my bike. The blue Yamaha keys look much better and have worked just fine since I got them about 3 months ago.
