Hello,I'm new on here.I'm in Florida on the gulf coast.My rides are an '02 FZ1 and an '05 ST1300.I like to ride and I ride a good bit.I'm joining this forum as a way of helping my son looking for parts to repair a damaged blue '04 FZ6 he is considering buying.The bike needs the fairing,mirrors,tank etc.Having to buy the parts new from Yamaha would make the purchase of the damaged bike not worthwhile.Any help is appreciated,so thanks in advance.

welcome, lets of information on here, you should have your son check out the streetfighter section, it is a cheap way to fix the bike without spending too much on on things like fairings.

What I would do (Really what I'm planning on doing) is make it into a naked bike...

Slap some dual headlights on it (or what not), Some after market turn signals and some bar mount mirrors and you got yourself a legal bike that looks sexy and cost much less then rebuilding it to stock... Granted your son may want fairings on the bike which in that case really your only option is to buy OEM parts... possibly from someone that recently did a Naked conversion...

But anyways this is the set up I'm looking at



As for cost:
The Bike: $2,600
Light/Windscreen: $116 +plus a bracket to fit it (pretty cheap)
Turn Signals: $40
Mirrors: $32 + Bar Mount Bracket ($10)

Total for the front end: about $200 (not including shipping and tax and what not)

The gauge cluster (not sure if that falls in your "ect" pile) is about $320, cheaper then the stock @ just over $400 but still pretty good chunk of money...

As for the tank... mine doesn't need a new one so i'm not sure about that... I've seen some on ebay for 150-200... not to bad

But yea naked=cheaper :thumbup:

Also BTW, If you are looking at getting the Yamaha stock parts the guy selling me the bike in the picture above has a lot of the things you might need and I'm sure he could give you a good deal on them :thumbup:

Also check out FZ6 on E-Bay as you often get all the things you are looking for on there.

Top of the list when all those bits you mentioned are back on HAS to be frame sliders. They can save so much damage to the bike.

Tell your son to get on here as well.

I agree, do an e-bay search and you can find anything for a fair price.
