LED license plate bulb

I've gone LED on my tail and front and rear signals, and I'd like to change out my license plate bulb as well for a whiter LED. I know the housing for the bulb includes a reflector that helps distribute the omnidirectional light output of an incandescent. Does anyone have a source for a good bulb that is a direct replacement? Searching for "LED" is too short to turn up any results.

I'm using one of these. One of the LED's is downward facing, so it lights up the plate fine.

I used a bolt style for another project and it was plenty bright and directional (almost too spot light-ish) but they have a whole range of LED style, just search bulb replacement and theres everything you could possibly want.

what did you use for the brake /tail light. I found that there was nothing readily available the spread light around the reflector in the tail light and it became too directional- if you wern't on the right angle the light was down by over 50% and almost to nothing from the sides

I replaced the tail light with an entirely new housing that included a panel of LEDs. Pretty bright!

The issue you mention, however, is exactly what I'm trying to avoid with the plate light.
