how to clean headers?

mine are all grimy. how do i make them sparkle? was thinking of using sunlight dish detergent. anything out there better for this purpose?

ive used sunlight in the past and it doesnt make them sparkle tho.

Autosol works well, too.

I just did mine the other day. I am planning on polishing them again later today to get some more of the grit off.

I use Blue Magic metal polish.

This is what my headers looked like after a long trip.


And some polishing took them back to looking like this.


It takes a little work but is well worth it. I believe there is silicone in the polish. It keeps the headers nice and clean for a long time.

Mine were nasty from riding most of the winter with rain, salt, snow and what not.

I used brake clean with 800 grit wetdry sandpaper and then never dull earlier today. It works too, but not as shiny as bluejob/blueaway up above.
