My bike is at 43k km, still original chain but I noticed today that I have a good number of stiff links, will try a thorough cleaning and lube to see if that helps it but I have a feeling it's time to splurge on a new one. Surprisingly the chain has barely stretched over the 43k km, I've had to adjust it maybe four to five times only. Just the stiff links bother me

What is everyone's experience with the stock chain mileage?

Sitting around 33.5k miles. Chain is at it's max adjust length. The sprockets still look to be in good shape really, especially considering I "may" have done a few wheelies here and there. Replacing the whole shibang here directly though. Noticable wear or not.. that's more miles than the average sprocket is supposed to survive.

play it safe. heard a couple stories of broken chains on highways. one of my buddies hit somethign with his chain that caused oil to gush out all over his rear. i think that happened to someone on here too.

I'm at 23K miles, and the chain has a couple of stiff links.... no 'stretch' to speak of. The sprockets are starting to show some wear as well. They are probably going to get changed out over the winter.

I'm pleased enough with the OEM parts, I'd take a long hard look at anything else.....

This is all good information.
I have 12,000 km on my equipment and it appears this is a good chain.
Yesterday I rode 400km in 35 Celsius and didn't appear to lose much lube at all. I have only adjusted it twice and once was to loosen it when it came back from the dealer who left it too farkin tight!!!

I keep it lubed and degrease regularly.
I will be replacing at manufacturer specs despite its condition.

Spring riding season has arrived here downunder.
