Horn Mod

I picked up a Fiamm Freeway Blaster low tone horn today and installed it on my FZ6.
Holy mackerel is it LOUD. :D
No more sounding like the Road Runner....meep meep.

I'm going to make up a bracket that angles the Fiamm horn's front opening downwards so that any water that gets in there will run straight out. I thought of simply turning it 180 degrees which would angle the opening downwards, but then it would probably scare the "bee-jeebus" out of me instead of the intended victim who might cut me off/is cutting me off/has cut me off...

So this horn is just to plug into where the old one used to be? No extra wiring and such needed?

Any of you know of a store that sells this horn and delivers to Europe (Norway) ?

Thanks.

So I picked up the Fiam Highway plaster today at Advance Auto parts. The only battery I have around other than my car battery (bike is not here in Charlotte) is a battery for my starter box used to start my RC car. The battery was low on voltage, but it has been charging all day and I just taped the horn on the terminals a second ago and my ears are still ringing.

However I am thinking about getting these later down the road.

I realize that these are only rated at 118db, but I am not sure at what distance they measured them from. A buddy of mine here at school has a set on on his STI and they are amazing! I am wondering the measurement was taken at a good distance, where as the Fiam is measured at only a few inches or so?

Was reading this thread the other day so I decided to get a new horn.

Picked up a Motrax horn this morning. £9.99 for a dual pack, one is low tone the other high.

(The web site seemed slow or it could just be me)

Fitted a single one in place of the factory toy horn in about 5 mins. 'uck it is loud, especially in the garage.

I got the black version. Sticks out abit so I might do something between the forks under the lamp.

Hay man, look up the stebel horn on NippyNormans website. I believe its UK based and should deliver to you there. At least they did deliver one to me in Ireland. They have a few types. you can always look at ebay for horns too! :)

everyone is mentioning the DB rating of the after market horns and i know that the factory isn't crazy loud but as a reference point i would like to know what the stock horn is rated at. Does anyone know?

118db is the legal limit and probably as loud as the stock but a different tone.

I got a spare NEW airhorn I'll sell for $30 if someone buys it before I move (May)

I scared the bee-jeebus out of some guy yesterday...he looked like he was having seizures while I held the horn :)

just to clarify that statement, it was on a twist, he was in the middle of both lanes, and thinkng about parking it there judging from the way he was disregarding all the motorcyclists zooming by

I just realized I don't post here much hehe... I'm always over at the SBN forum.. I did go and get the Fiamm freeway blaster horn without relay. It works like a charm and I couldn't be more pleased! :)

Thanks for the info though:cheer:
