K&N oil filter (yes, im one of those dickheads who bought the chrome filter..)

Seems everything I do is considered phallic as well.

many thanks for the warm welcome :)

i did manage a little fracture on the left ankle, kept me in a cast and on crutches for about 4 weeks, in the end frustration got the better of me and i chucked he cast and crutches away a few weeks early

the bike (excuse the pics, taken at 6am and its a bit dark out so i have had to adjust the levels afterwards)

Mate Silver and black rocks. Its the colour of choice of the more discerning owner.
Take it easy ith ditching the cast. Its not there to piss you off. You dont want a small insignificant injury turning into a chronic pain in the arse.

hehe i just hated the feeling of helplessness, i had no idea how much i relied on the ankle to make my day easier, left ankle mainly, clutch on car, gears on bike etc

there is still a bit of discomfort there now but i will keep an eye on it, dont want it deteriorating

no one noticed how dirty the bike is so far :P its in major need of a clean and is due soon for a service in the next 2000kms so will hold off until my new house is finished and i can pull it apart in my workshop in comfort (hate not having room in a carport for the bike, it sits in the entry to thehouse under the balcony at the moment... cant work on it there :( )

WOW! nice mod list and bike (i did notice it was a little dirty) mine sleeps right outside of my front door also. Welcome and tell me how that afterburner turns out! lol

nice lookin bike. I like it.

thank you :) I have had it for a while and its jsut clocked up 36000kms
ridden rain, storm, heat, regardless on time of day etc to and from work
its only a 50km round trip, but its enough to clear the head before and after work

a little dirty is an understatement, there are water marks on it and dust and masses of road grime and some white powedery dirt, my new house is being built down the road and the only place to park the bike when i get to have a look is on the footpath, so the wind whips up all the dirt onto the bike.
it lives on the front step for a little bit longer, new house has a 3 car garage, 3rd spot is for bikes, then it can get pulled apart and cleaned properly. i was also hoping someone picked up on the afterburner :P

nice lookin' bike, what happened in your accident?
i was approaching a corner and noticed a little sand so i slowed down nicely to take the corner on an easy arc (corner was a lefthander at the bottom of a hill). once the front wheel touched the road on the corner itself down it went onto my ankle. i really wish the crash knob was 30 mm longer... when i hoppe up, it the entry to this road was loose gravel ontop of the sand (gravel same colour as the road and flat) there was no way i was going around the corner. this is the point the fracture in my ankle happened, when i got up and picked the bike up angry i hopped on without putting the stand down, put weight on the sore ankle and immediately went back over, hard. this caused the bone to crack nicely with the fracture to boot. at this point i was angrier than all hell, got the bike up, put the stand down and stood on my right foor for a minute pondering what to do next. i rode the 4 km home through sidestreets and traffic lights, stopping at 7 corners and 3 sets of lights and changing gears with a broken left ankle (moving the foot up from the knee as opposed to bending the ankle.
the road has been cleaned and resurfaced since

Real nice bike. Ever consider putting a post2006 swingarm on their instead of the one you listed?

had a look at a few different ones, JMC make a double braced swingarm for the fz6 at custom lengths. looking down the track that far, i dont like corners and prefer the straights... so a few motor mods + longer swingarm may make it fun on the strip :)

again, i am riding to and from work and will do the mods very slowly, i just want it 100% and all the non essentials can wait while i sort my 4wd out for long distance trips :)

welcome dude i got the same bike but 04 reckon the silver and black is wicked, since stop riding to work, have now only got 6000km onboard, much easier to keep clean this way. Isnt even reg just sitting in shed. I have been having all sorts of trouble finding gear for bike here in adelaide.
