I, m so sorry for this....it sure makes you feel bad..i wish you luck in finding a new job. keep positive

Bad news Lone!

A guy like you though will have absolutely no problem getting another job. And I bet it will be an even better job with more money too!

Chin up mate, it'll work out just fine :)

Gutted For you Lone,

Was it out of the blue? Or did you have a chance to start looking before you were laid off?
Best of luck for the future.

Nelly

Man, that sucks - really sorry to hear about this.
Keep your chin up, you'll get through this tho.

"...But it ain't about how hard ya hit. It's about how hard you can get it and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done!"

Don't worry!

Happened to me mid January out of the blue... 3 months later I found myself a better Job!

Plus I get to keep what's left of my compensation package :D

What did you do for living?

That sucks man. I got told yesterday that once my shore duty is up, I'm probably getting a medical discharge. They're listing me as non-deployable, I was devistated. But at least I have like 2 years to get retrained in something. Just being dropped like you were... wow.

At least the military is probably going to pay me a portion of my paycheck for the rest of my life. That's a plus.

I hope you find something soon.

I'm really sorry to read this!!!!!

Keep your head up, I'm sure something better will come your way.

Good luck,

Man, this sucks to hear, Lone! But, as Kazza said, you've got a good head on your shoulders and should have no problem finding another, better job. 7 years ago I was let go from a job I'd been in for 6 1/2 years. It took 5 months of constant searching and applying before I landed my current (much, much better and higher paying) job. I look back on that layoff as one of the best things that ever happened to me. Hopefully, the same thing will happen for you!

Keep your head up. Oh, and a pox upon your former employer's house for dropping you with no warning!

Sorry to hear that, lone. There was an announcement of a big lay off at a company near my home that I nearly went to work for (interviewed and declined an offer a little over a year ago) just yesterday. What was it, lay off day?

What was the context of the layoff? The one here was pretty dirty...company was hiring extra people just a few months back, then they sell out and the new owners shut it down.

When one door closes, another one opens

No worries that you'll find something soon enough, in the meantime, take advantage of some free time and enjoy life

Tough luck Lone. Bummer but think of it as being for a reason. There is something better out there for you anyway. Are you going to be able to do your trip this summer? Hopefully so that would suck not to be able to do it.
Keep the faith it's for the best. Think positive!
