Very sorry bout the lay-off. It definitely sucks big time, but your attitude is in the right place and it's comforting to know that you have the option to rend out the basement to generate some income.

There is a big architecture firm based in San Francisco called Gensler...

I will still maintain that there's far better states to choose.

Thanks man. Working towards starting my own business now. In the meantime I will just be looking for work to pay the bills.

Residential design then later design-build. Most of the houses are pretty plain but I'll flex my creative muscles now and again and try to come up with really cool custom homes.
