Unfortunately my bike was hit in a parking lot (2007 Blue FZ6) and the tank was damaged pretty badly. Insurance covered it and I installed the new tank myself. Everything works fine except the fuel gauge is now severely inaccurate. I get the low fuel warning after only about 50 miles on a full tank. I can use the trip and judge pretty well when I need to get fuel but I was wondering if anyone knew of any way to calibrate the gauge or what I can do to make it more accurate. Maybe I have to replace the whole sensor inside the tank?

Side note, it had a little under a quarter tank, so I siphoned all the fuel out before replacing the tank, and when I put the new one one I just filled it all the way back up without starting the bike again so maybe thats the problem? Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

If the tank was damaged enough, it could have bent the sender's arm. Without knowing what it looked like beforehand you may not have known that it was bent.
