Hey guys. I am new to the forum and to the world of street biking. I am currently in Iraq, but for the last 2 weeks (ending about a week ago) I was able to go home for leave and try out my new bike. I had found this pristine condition 05 FZ6 with only 1800 miles on it for 4000 USD. Due to living in Washington state, there wasn't a lot of great weather for learning. I rode when I could and improvised different things in the garage when I could not ride. So far, I have made a custom LED Fender eliminator system (cost me about 12 bucks, so I could not complain about that), scorpion stainless exhaust, flush mount front turn signals (LED), hyper blue headlights, and a tank protector. Still got more to do, but looking into an opinion about buying a bellypan/cowl or lowers to finish the upper faired look. Also wondering about a power commander to help smooth everything out.

Very nice looking bike. I'd say you got a great deal. The only thing I see wrong with it is it's one of the slower silver ones.

The new scorps are definitely a great fit on the silver bike. I would go with the lowers as they make the bike a bit more sporty looking.

Thats a pretty good looking bike even though it's the silver I really like the look of those scorps too! The lower cowl you can get from Kneedraggers.com for less than the Yamaha dealership and it looks great, really easy to put on too! How 'bout some sliders?

i have frame sliders (first thing put on), i didn't list it due to being somthing that everyone should have on.

Ohh, any certain reason people dont like the silver. Personally its my favorite color, and looks good, with the black and stainless/chrome accents.

also, how do you make a poll, i want one, for the hell of it, to see what people like best: complete naked, only a cowl, only upper, upper and a cowl, or fully faired.

I think the only reason someone gives anyone else grief about the color of their bike is because they secretly like the color and kinda wish they had it. Everyone has the fastest color on their own bike, it seems.

I really do like the silver and black, it looks real nice.

I should have looked closer to your pictures and I would have seen the sliders:spank:

My first bike was a silver Bandit 400. Still love silver But with the blacked out engine on the 06+ I fell in love w/the Cobalt Blue

Not a problem, look me up, i will be back in the states roughly in August. I will miss most of the season but until the first freeze (and shortly there after) nothing is going to get me off of my new bike:rockon:

I am in the Army, currently deployed with the 81st Brigade. I am a 92Y MOSQ currently in a armorer position. Although i am doing other things that arrise when needed including supply, driving (the BIG trucks), gunning (for teh convoy missions), and comms. Needless to say i have long days, lol.

If you are getting the DB you may as well do the screen mod with the stock screen. You might like it.
