Don't be this guy

After reading the posts I didn't check the pictures.
One thing that every person I've ever spoken to about motorcycle maintenance has said is not to use that method for cleaning/lubing the chain.
That being said its kind of logical not too... sad that some people learn the hard way.
 
I've been building machinery for years. I've been lucky but sometimes you get slopy under presure to get a job done. I had a mechanic reach into a running machine last week and end up with 13 stiches in the pad of his thumb, lucky not to have ripped it off.

Kudos to that guy for posting his pics and story. Great attitude.
 
I have had this one time on my MTB ... was a painfull lesson ...my finger was stock between the sprocket and the front shifter, with the tooth of the sprocket tru my nail and in my finger.

And that was only on a stupid pedal bike ...

Those things always seem to be a good idea ... until something happens ... :(
 
It is sad that this was a hard lesson to learn, but it was avoidable. This was a future Darwin award winner IMO.
