Well that is a CBS poll, kind of like if I were to post a Fox poll.

http://www.rasmussenreports.com/pub...ministration/daily_presidential_tracking_poll

Here is the Rassmussen poll, widely recognised as one of the most accurate, least biased polls.

Overall, 55% of voters say they at least somewhat approve of the President's performance so far. Forty-four percent (44%) disapprove. The President’s overall approval has stayed between 55% and 59% every day for over a month.

http://www.rasmussenreports.com/scoreboards/by_the_numbers2/by_the_numbers

Here it is more broken out, notice that less only 47% think his econimic policies will work. 58% believe that partisan politics are increasing under his administration (clearly). Only 20% believe Democrats are acting on a bipartisan basis.

Some great metrics are seen on the issue of taxes. Only 21% of Americans believe raising taxes WONT hurt the economy. 63% believe tax cuts will help, with only 13% saying they would hurt.

What this is showing is that while Barack Obama is still popular, his actual approval ratings are not as high, and his policy ratings are negative. It is a downward slide, they like the guy for some reason, but don't like his policies. They don't want more taxes, don't want illegal imigrant amnesty, and don't want the bailouts. I believe we will start to see his numbers slide along with the employment figures, which Biden announced will continue throughout the year. With Bush, who's approval ratings were the highest on record after 9/11, saw the same thing as the reports of US casualties were being widely reported by the media every week. Every week more deaths, every week a little more sliding of his approval ratings. I wonder what happened to the reporting of US casualties anyway?

Also a question for you: since you clearly posted this as a response to another thread explaining that rather than fulfill a major component of his campaign (eliminating illegal federal wire taps in the US) Obama has decide (surprise!) that not only will he not give up that power, but he wants to DRASTICALLY increase it while absolving himself from any legal liability from illegal domestic spying, in effect removing any recourse for those being spied upon by his administration. So... do you support that?

I'm afraid you aren't as psychic as you think, Cuba! I didn't post this in response to another thread. If I had wanted to address the topic of another thread, I would have posted in said thread. I posted this because I am delighted to hear that 2 out of 3 Americans approve of the job Obama has done so far.

I understand you may have trouble accepting you are in the minority, I felt the same way from 2000-2008.

John Stewart has some advice for those Americans that refuse to support this administration:

Yes, tyranny. A.K.A. our democratically elected President. You know what guys....I think you might be confusing tyranny with losing. And I feel for you because ah...I've been there. A few times. In fact one of them was a bit of a nail biter.

But see, when the guy that you disagree with gets elected, he's probably going to do things you disagree with. He could cut taxes on the wealthy. Remove government's oversight capability. Invade a country that you thought should not be invaded but that's not tyranny. That's democracy.

See now you're in the minority. It's supposed to taste like a **** taco.

And by the way, if I remember correctly when a disagreement was expressed about that President's actions when ya'll were in power I believe the response was "Why do you hate America?". "Watch what you say." "Love it or leave it." "Suck on my truck nuts." .....

For god's sake guys. You've been out of power for ten ****ing weeks. You've got a mid-term election in twenty months. Pace your rage!

And don't forget this metric:

Almost three-quarters of Americans think it is a good idea to raise taxes on people making more than $250,000 per year. In fact, two-thirds of Americans think the tax code should be changed so that middle-class Americans pay less than they do now and "upper income" people pay more.

That's 75% of Americans, or 3 out of every 4!

But your poll is incorrect, I showed you why. Give it time. I don't support national socialism or infringement of constitutional rights, if the administration did I wouldn't be arguing. But apparently you do support these policies... why don't you answer any questions by the way? No good answers as to why? That's the issue- you like him and support him, but are incapable of explaining why.

But where did you come up with those numbers? If I wanted to I could come up with obscure numbers showing the opposite. Of course people want others to be taxed, just not themselves. I'm surprised it isn't 100% of Americans that think someone else should pay for everything.

While you may believe your claim that Rassmussen is the 'least biased' poll, a little research reveals that the bias they do have favors Republicans.

Ah good, you tied it in to a commercial media source with a liberal bias. Saved me the trouble. Rasmussen is not a commercial media source, I trust it more than the rest, arguing is pointless it's just our opinions.

Does that mean you're done talking? I guess I can start posting Fox polls now...

I wouldn't, but you really couldn't argue if I did.

Actually, it's a fee country, so you can post all the FOX stories you want, and I can argue with you about them if I feel like it...or not!

:D

Ok

gonna let the @$#$ taco part of it slide, but quoting John Stewart is like me quoting Limbaugh. They are both in the bag for one side. We both know it and thats just the way it is. Well except any conservitive that talks like that is vilified, while the liberal is praised.

I will argue the 66% being valid though. It is of course a wieghted poll, it is also most likely a poll with leading questions, CBS, NBC, ABC, FOX and all news networks are known to have a predetermined result then poll to get what they want.

Let me see if I can find something for you.
Pollster John Zogby said his poll will show Americans split on the president’s performance. He said the score factors out to “about 50-50.”

The poll, released this afternoon, shows the president’s “excellent or good” job performance rating hitting 49 percent, down 3 points from a March 5 Zogby poll. Other poll highlights include:
50 percent rate Obama’s performance as “fair or good.”
1 percent are not sure about the president’s performance.
45 percent believe the nation is heading in the right direction, an upward trend.
91 percent of Democrats rate the president favorably.
14 percent of Republicans support his performance in office.

Zogby has him at 50/50

Polls are very inaccurate anyway.

See here is the thing. I am not against Obama, I am against his policies that I feel will harm the country or harm me. If he does things that I think are good I will support them.

I sure as hell get to say hey this wont work and here is why, and here is proof. If someone wants to dismiss it, and pay no attention thats fine, short sighted but its everyones right to "dance while the boat is sinking"

I know I dont live in a big city, or up north or the west coast. I work with a bunch of people, one is Obama supporter. I see a bunch of people everyday, there is lots of conversation about WTF is this crazy man doing?????? I havent heard but two people talking in support of his policies, out in the waiting area. One college proffessor (completely unrelated to this but he is a jerk) and one retired union guy from GM(he is a great guy and I enjoy talkiing to him). Every other conversation about the news on TV is hey what the heck is going on???? This isnt right!

I just dont see 66%
