Center Stand Snafu

This may be common sense but I just want to spread the word.

If you every plan on taking your FZ6 to the track or in areas where you'll leaning over extremely low, I STRONGLY ADVISE TO REMOVE THE CENTER STAND.

I don't see anything touching the ground in your picture. Looks like you left your peg feelers on, they should have touched down first.

I strongly advise you remove your SIDEstand and peg-feelers. I have still never seen evidence of anyone dragging their FZ6 centerstand. It can't be done without first dragging your pegs and if you're draggin your centerstand you're probably already on your way down. You can see from your picture that it looks like the SIDEstand will touch before the centerstand on the clutch lever side, not positive about the throttle side.

+1 removing the peg feelers.

I removed my centerstand purely for looks, but this reminds me that it also serves a purpose.

slightly OT: hey DI, how do you remove the side stand? I don't have any problems with it (yet), but I looked it over once or twice and removing the stand itself isn't a problem, but what about the plug for the kickstand sensor?

Leave all those bits in place. Those scrapes are badges of honor. Wear them with PRIDE!

Well, if the center stand doesn't scrape until after the side stands does this is remarkable engineering. Gawd, I remember when I had a 1971 Honda CB350; the center stand used to scrape all the time and so did the right side brake pedal. BTW, I love the FZ6 center stand; I use it a lot, especially when working on mods or maintenance.

I'm not saying this to be that way but, HOLY S, you could have had things go really wrong in one of those turns. Good thing you figured it out.
