That's interesting. Perhaps they changed that in the years after my 06 because the stock reflectors all had metal brackets behind them when I pulled mine apart. Plastic would have been a lot easier to work with had it been like yours.:thumbup:

That's what mine looked like as well. How did you make the plastic panel that you put those "clips" into for the projector to mount with? That's the hard part on these retrofit projects.

The panel is cut of of 1/8" aluminum sheet. I followed Fizzer6's wite-up here:

Now long and what temp do bake the headlights to get them open and then reseal them? I've never got a strait answer on that anywhere......

200 degrees for 20 minutes worked for me.

Some say 20 minutes, some say 10. I did 10 minutes at 200F on mine and it worked just fine. Just make sure you have the rack low enough that the headlight doesn't touch anything.:thumbup:

I've been wanting to do this swap for a while but I thought it would be significantly more involved. Now that I see how easy it is and that it actually non-destructive to the headlight assembly, I can't resist, Im getting on the projector bandwagon!

You're welcome!! Those look fairly easy to work with. I have leftover 1/8" aluminum sheet if you're interested. I had to buy a 1'x2' sheet.

I'm quite impressed by the quality of work on this. I'd love to get an up close and personal look at it sometime. And I'd like to get pictures comparing my headlight modification to yours.

I can quickly swap my bike between the BD45 mod and the Cshcrzzy mod, so we can do a headlight mod shootout.

The two brackets are cut and I'm shipping them to you tomorrow. I couldn't cut the last notch for the mounting clips because my blade bit the dust. I'll leave that one for you when you cut the holes for the projector.

Two questions.....

What paint did you used?
The finish (the parts you painted black) on this projectors, are really different from others ,,, Right? correct me if I am wrong, but other projectors will do the job, but wont look as these?

I used some high temp (500 degrees) paint from auto zone. Depending on what oem housing you get, they will look different from mine and will also mount differently. My projectors are from a Nissan FX 45.
