Awesome day in the Angeles Crest Forest...

John standing in the middle of the San Andreas fault:

That road goes straight through the middle of the fault:

From the top of the mountain we could see past Willow Springs (100+ miles away):

Thanks dudes! John and I are looking into dual sports... hopefully we'll pull the trigger by the end of the year... can't wait to explore the hundreds of trails that shoot off ACH and other roads around LA mountains... Nate, I heard you stopped riding off road? WTH?

Funny, my husband (John) and I discussed that very thing this past weekend....We went to a BMW rally here in Colorado and we both thought "been there, rode that"! And like California, there are lots of dirt roads and passes here.

And does Cali Rider not like you taking his picture??? He always seems to be :Flip:???

Let me know when you guys get dual sports! Since I got the 800GS I've been looking for buddies to tackle those fire roads with. What kind of ds bikes are you looking at?

BTW: first post in a year... came back to visit after getting all nostalgic over dicing it up with you guys on Montezuma Valley rd

Hey stranger! Been years since I've ridden with you Man!

I've been toying with the adventure idea myself after seeing how Jerry (Jblk9695) gets railing on his Tiger.

Hope to catch you soon on a ride! :)

You heard wrong. I bought a Tuono but I'm very much in the market for another dirt oriented dual sport. Going to go look at a TE450 next week.

That's not a dual sport, bud. You want a bike with a plate or just green sticker? Depends what you want to do with it. What is your price range?

The husky is just high performance. 245 pounds, good suspension and good power. The one I'm looking at has 2500 miles and comes with a set of mortard wheels with big brake, etc. There is a mortard track 45 minutes from SF.

Also looking at an 02 WR426, also with a sumo setup, but cheaper.

Really want a KTM 350 EXC but the are $10k new.

Those 250s are sweet. You can get A LOT of dual sport for $5K if you buy used. Pretty much anything you want so long as it is 2010 or older.
