Cali Rider and I did Angeles Crest Highway and Mount Baldy and a bunch of other amazing roads... there was VERY little traffic up there and the weather was unbelievable... one corner after another for 5 hours!!! Pure joy

Oh and we passed Jerry a couple of miles after Newcombs going up (you were going down), and I threw my hands in the air but you did not see it

An interesting fact about this road: Lone Pine Canyon Road goes directly over the famous San Andreas Fault. This fault WILL one day cause a catastrophic earthquake throughout the Los Angeles area as it has in the past.

Lone Pine Canyon is my favorite way to get to Wrightwood:thumbup:
As for the San Andreas I'll either have beach front property or be the beach, not sure which but I vote for the beach as I live on just the wrong side of the fault

I was using a small Sony Cybershot T10... the "technique" consists of using your left hand (remove glove and sit on it beforehand) to remove camera from jacket inside pocket, flip the front face of the camera down (that's how it turns on), and hold the camera with your left hand's 4 fingers on top of it and the thumb below it, using your index to take the picture (I shoot blind, and keep my eyes on the road at all times). The self shot was a slight variation of that
