Alternative Vid Hosting Web Sites?

Yeah I know I could google this question and then spend the next hour figuring out if the service is any good, and then come to find out, after I've already signed up that they suck, resulting in an endless stream of spam.

So board, I pose this question, is there anyone else out there aside from You Tube for hosting videos?

The reason I ask is I've been trying to up load a video for about two hours, and I'm about 60% of the way there. The file is very big, 650 mb. I've had YT lock up twice, I started this project about 8:00 pm last night.

Photobucket hosts video's but i am not sure what their limitations are as i only use them for small cell phone video's. but those have always worked :thumbup:

yeah i know what you mean... YT always gives me crap... especially if there is a song clip in there... you will spend 45 min uploading it, only for them to reject it because there is a song clip somewhere in the vid that they think is copyright infringement

Yea, I've noticed more and more videos on there have no sound because it says something about the songs in them. I think it's crap.

Time for someone to start their own video hosting service people can use worry free.

Here's a short video I posted on Vimeo. The source was avi straight from the camera, not editing at all. Very easy web site to use.

I think what I need to find is good video editing software to preserve the image quality. Over on my Track Day thread I reposted the video edited with Quick Time Pro and it is better than the older version of iMovie by a little, but the quality did degrade.

never had a problem hosting videos with photobucket (albet a bit slow)and you have a 100 meg limit. then again. ive never added my own music and tinkered with the videos so i cant speak from that standpoint.
