Not really a new member more a (ive just remembered my password member lol) that and since losing my FZ600 in a smash back in 2009 ive turned to the darkside!!....was looking at getting a 1999 FZ6 in red but saw a 1999 CBR900RRX in red less mileage for same price!! as ive always wanted to try...
I know how u feel ...and im glad ur ok..i lost my bike 16th sept cos some idiot decided to cut across my path, i had a 22year old FZ600, the impact broke the frame in 4 places and is now un-economical to repair...luckily my boots saved me from a smashed leg but the armour plate in the shin was...
my bike did the same i.e. ran fine till i put the lights on then after 20 miles it stopped dead...turns out it was possibly the bushes in the generator housing or one of the electrical connections....not sure which but i cleaned and checked the connectors and the bushes and the bike worked after...
cheers guys...its just sad to see the old girl in such a state...im now looking at a T52 Tank conversion, or maybe a Panza trike...;)...dont know if im gonna be able to get another FZ600 though..well maybe ill be able to buy a new FZ6 who knows...
Ouch my little old FZ600 is no more...a nice driver decided to turn right across my path at the top of a hill...i hit him at 30mph...bike is a total right off as the frame is cracked n bent.....gutted:spank:

Damn we will never know now cos u deleted ur foot!!! I lost me main lights the other night...checked fuses....checked bulbs...checked switch gear etc high beam worked but not main...turns out it was a corroded connection, lights work now!!

There is no fuel pump on theses bikes so cancel ur order...both me and my bro have 1987 model FZ600's...you say the only thing u removed was the ignition module? by that do you mean the little black box thats normally bolted to the top of the airbox? if so its called the CDI unit and if thats...
I think its just N-Wales, i live on the west coast and the police seem ok, its just the condition of the roads thats a mess lol!!...Most bikers nod or wave still....ive noticed though that some on their posh tricked out sports bikes dont acknowledge u much..i guess its the usual "pfttt whats...
dont forget the consumerables such as release oil, WD40, gasket sealant, electrical contact cleaner and copper slip grease...the last is a must for most bolts etc it can cut down on the chances of having bolts snap in their holes...if the last owner of my bike had applied a little to the exhaust...
My petc0ck was leaking too!! i found out it was that little O-ring washer behind the on/off knob or in our case reserve/on tap....i removed the 2 little screws from the tap and noticed the rubber seal was worn so replaced it and now it doesnt leak...
looks great!! mines all red atm till i can afford a decent spray job...i got Predator stainless steel exhaust system on it...had to replace exhaust gaskets and have a snapped stud drilled out...then seal the exhaust up properly cos it was blowing from all joints...LO never thought to use...
your seats look very compfy compared to my granite slab :D i have heard of jell seats for some sports bikes, i know u can get jell seat covers for bicycles..
not sure if i qualify lol owning a 22year old fizzer...but it cost me £200 just to get a snapped exhaust bolt removed, i tried and failed cos it was in there for good...yammy dealer had to remove one front fork, heat the stud, snap it off and drill it..it took him 5 hours and he charges £35 per...
yay hopefully ive somehow sorted this problem and im not totally sure how!!
But i checked all connections again especially the rectifier socket, cleaned and checked all earth connections to the frame...then removed the gen cover and checked the bushes put it all back together and have had 2...
right i had a look at my Bro's FZ600 today and he showed me what was coming out of the side crankcase oil plug...it was definately a mix of petrol and oil!!!
now the question is how is it getting in there? if the carb floats were stuck open then surely the fuel would spew out of the carb...
