Holding down 'RESET' (in either odometer or engine RPM mode - not one of the resettable trips) will cycle between displaying the time and the intake temperature.
Holding down 'SELECT' (pretty sure this can be done in any of the odometer/trip/RPM settings) will switch between MPH and KPH. It...
My right side passenger foot peg broke in half
That being said, I need a replacement ASAP. I haven't been able to find an OEM one online (bike bandit), so I figured I'd try here.
Thanks
Definitely possible. I got 60.1 mpg on an entire tank from Moab, UT to Golden, CO (just outside of Boulder). 245 miles until the low fuel warning started. I recently did a 6,000 mile trip across the western USA and noticed better mileage overall. My highway average was in the mid 50's, when...
GPS'd at 128.3 mph, but fully loaded with stuffed soft side bags, tail bag, and 14L tank bag. At least 40+ lbs. of luggage plus the drag with the bags sticking out. I was pretty happy with that.
I filed a chargeback on my credit card on Monday and brought my stock seat to a local upholsterer (who works on motorcycle seats too) to get a gel insert and additional/different grade foam for the tidy sum of ~$120 total. The gel insert (which had to be ordered) should be arriving today...
hmm so I installed my 12V plug this afternoon. Used a 30 amp inline fuse as it was the only thing I had around the house (it was the older glass type fuse but still in a watertight container). Connected the positive wire to the battery, and the ground wire to the frame (where the tank bolts...
Couple quick questions:
1.) This won't drain the battery as long as nothing is plugged in, correct? I don't plan on installing any sort of relay...
2.) I bought a 12V waterproof cigarette lighter outlet from an auto parts store. There is no in-line fuse and the guy at the counter said it...
This is kind of a good sign for me I guess (I ordered mine 4/15 as well). Still no sign of the seat though and according to the USPS (which the tracking number also works for since they will handle the package in the USA), the seat is still in France
From what I read on this site...
I ordered mine April 16. According to Top Sellerie (and the tracking website), it was "preparing to leave the country of origin" on April 17. Two weeks later and that's still the status
I'm beyond upset over the whole situation. Of course I've already been charged for the seat...
1,100 miles in 19 hours on a bone stock 2006 FZ6 at the end of last season.
Lost my paperwork for Iron Butt so I guess I'll be doing one again this summer!
Pretty much all the aftermarket I see recommended on this site are for the 2007-2009. What's out there for the 2004-2006 models?
I'm looking for something that hopefully will have a little better protection and quietness compared to stock. I will be taking a 5,000+ mile trip in a few weeks...
I'm in the same boat man. My Top Saddlery has been "waiting to leave the country of export" (according to the French translation on the tracking site) for a week now.
Great, I was basically planning on zip tying around there anyways (rather than cutting into the side fairing panels). I'll send you a PM tomorrow of over the weekend (pretty swamped right now) to work out shipping/paypal.
The important question though: Is it a cigarette lighter style plug?
Can you post a better picture or two of the power outlet? I'm interested in length, type of socket, if there's a weatherproof cover, where/how you mounted it.
Thanks
I've yet to see another FZ6 in Minnesota at all. My 2006 red FZ6 currently resides in Woodbury, but I will be bringing it back to SE Minneapolis (near the U) in the coming days, where it will stay the rest of the season. Maybe I'll see some of you blue guys around
Nice! I just ordered mine today too after sitting on the fence for a couple weeks (I have a 5,500 mile trip a month from tomorrow though so I figure the time is now).
Now to play the waiting game...
