Does anyone else get pain in their knees after they've been riding for a while? I try to shift my legs around a little and it helps some but the pain eventually comes through. After a while, everything below my knees almost feels numb.
I've been experiencing this for about the past year in...
I'd suggest a good cargo net that straps on the back seat, then. Just make sure it's tight enough to keep the second helmet secure. Unlike an underseat helmet lock, that'll keep it completely out of your way and you should barely notice it's there.
If you're leaving it on the bike while...
Yeah there isn't a helmet lock on the 2005's. I use a cable lock around one of the grab rails and lock the helmet with that if I need to. It's a little ugly, but it gets the job done.
I'm a shorty (5'7") and the bike feels just slightly big. I can touch my feet down on both sides pretty well but if the road is canted a little it can get dicey. I like the overall feel while riding though, it fits my upper body very well.
I notice most people look big compared to their...
If you can wear jeans to work (or wherever you end up going), you might want to look into reinforced riding jeans. Some have aramid, leather, or kevlar.
They're not perfect and most don't have armor (though you can get some that do) but they're better than an average pair of jeans and take...
I always figured this was as good a reason as any to always use the kill switch. I've used it since I first started riding and do it every time.
It's kinda of an irrational concern, but I also feel slightly less in control if I reach down to the key while the bike is on. I like being able...
That one where the woman is trying to park for 4 minutes and the guy eventually gets out and parks it for her right away is a riot.
You could've parked a jumbo jet in that space.
If you had a crash where the bolt or slider itself snapped and that somehow did the frame of your bike in I imagine the bike would be taking a lot of damage besides that.
I wouldn't think a low-speed drop would snap the bolt (except maybe in a freak occurrence which might happen with shorter...

I know the article is focusing on the stupid things that some guys on sport bikes do, but it's funny how this bit is overlooked.
I don't know that I've ever seen an article entitled...
I rarely get above second gear and usually stay at 7k or above.
You're right, though, getting above 8k even in second gear has you exceeding the speed limit almost everywhere. By third gear I'm pretty sure you are exceeding it everywhere.
Makes me wish I could just make this a 3-speed and...
I noticed one person said they filled up at a station that only sold 87. Additionally, the original post mentions accidentally filling up with 87. That might mean you didn't go to your usual gas station (it might not).
Around here, the "discount" stations only sell 87. I don't know how...
Try to be as smooth as possible when opening the throttle and see if there is still a jolt. Start from a stop and open it as slowly as you can. This could also work while moving, but it may be harder to detect whether there is a jolt or not.
You probably don't have any sort of mechanical...
There have been a lot of posts from Virginia riders lately. I had no idea there were so many. I primarily see cruisers around here and not many of those.
I'm in Williamsburg. I'd probably want to wait a little longer before I go riding with a group.
If anybody wants to try to organize a...
I always figure it's worth it to look a little funny with the bike upright so you don't look funny with it on its side.
I have to back my bike out of a shed, down a short, steep ramp, then roll it through some sandy dirt. Then comes the gravel. On pavement it's not so hard to move it...
Yeah, some twisty roads would be good. I've got the Colonial Parkway around here which is decent for just cruising. There are a few back roads around here too that have some decent curves but they tend to be really narrow.
Anywhere that's not too busy and has some good curves?
Sorry, I should have said that I meant this happened while sitting on the bike. Zealadin, your strategy for walking around while off the bike sounds spot on, though.
