    Fun with helmets...

My poor bike now has 38,000+ miles on it. So does my HJC Helmet. Time for a new lid! Started looking around today and was shocked at the lack of choices. I'm a big guy (6'-3", 287 lbs, XXXL size), but I want some options! Here is my riding info/ preferences: 1- Flip up face. I'm a snuff...

Is my bike outdated? '08 FZ-6!

When my bike was new and in good mechanical shape, there were all kinds of sprocket kits out for it. Now it is 2 yrs old, has 23K miles, and I cannot find a sprocket kit to save my life? Am I missing something? I would like 15T c/s, 46T (stock) rear, and a darn chain to fit it all together! What...

    Air gauge question!

I have 6 air gauges in all configurations. I took 3 readings on my front & rear tires with each and never got the same measurement twice! My question is: who's gauge do you use? The most consistant readings I attained was from my "low pressure gauge", used primarily for atv tires! I only want...

    Quick-Pull Throttle?

Is anyone aware of a faster opening throttle for the FZ? My throttle cables are adjusted correctly, but my throttle has to rotate over 1/2 turn to reach wide open. Can't find any info on this- maybe a racing style throttle? Yes, I'm know how silly this has to sound...:spank...

    Dirtiest bike ever?

I was caught in not one, two or three Texas thunderstorms, but FOUR! in the span of 5 hours or so. Poor Fizzer looks like it has been dragged behind a truck with no rider! Words of wisdom? Stay out of West Texas in the late Spring! Glad I had raingear... This will take a while to clean...

    Rode a Buell this weekend!

The bike was an 06 XB12S, said the owner. Our ride was cut short by cold weather, but I still did about 50 miles in and out of town, and was able to gather a few impressions. They are in no particular order: 1) I love it! Torque is no longer a four letter word! Very docile and linear on the...

    Blowout!

Weather was too good this morning in Texas- had to ride! 60 miles in, at 75 mph- rear tire let go. I felt the rear of the bike swerve slightly, twice- so pulled over to check air pressure. There was none! A nice 1/8" hole in the center of tire greeted me instead. Bummer! But could have been much...

    bd43 Headlight Mod- DONE!

I cannot believe how easy it was! Today Mrs Ready & both daughters went Christmas shopping. I told myself that this is the day for dual lights, as well as a SpeedoHealer V4, as the bike would be torn apart anyway. Raised tank, yanked battery & airbox, had dual lights in under a 1/2 hour! BD43's...

    Recent Bike Swap REVIEW!

A friend of mine wanted to use my bike in order to get his m/c license, b/c my more upright riding position is more comfy (=stress free) when you're being watched. Told me to ride his bike for 2 days, wring it out, and give him my opinions. What could i say? Mike's bike is a heavily modded 07...

    15T Countershaft installed... FINALLY!

Needed to hide from Mrs. Ready for stealing her best hair dryer to remove decals last night... My Ninja 500 buddy came to my shop to have his chain broken for a -6 rear sprocket, so I thought I would slip on my 15T c/s as well. Should have done this mod 1st! The bike now takes off smoothly...

    Howdy from Texas!

With the rising cost of gas, I felt it prudent to get a bike. I first looked at and rode a Hayabusa- which I screamed and ran from! Not a good starter bike for me... While I have ridden dirt bikes, street bikes, atv's and anything else on wheels for my entire life, it seemed too intense for a...
