Ted,
My '07 FZ6 has just started doing the same thing you're describing within the last two days. I'm the only owner or rider and I've put just under 21k miles on my bike. I've always run Rotella or the synthetic version, changing every 3k miles. I don't know what the problem is either...
My bike started doing this exact same thing within the last two days. Doesn't have to get very hot, only operating temperature, which is usually in the upper 170s or lower 180s. I don't think it's a technique or oil issue, as I have owned this bike since new and have just under 21,000 miles on...
Thanks again Pete! I put a set of these on when you pointed out the sale last year. I had hoped for a little more milage out of them (got about 7k from them), but for the price they still can't be beat. Cycle Gear is holding another set for me until this weekend.

I'm not so sure. I've since trashed the magazine, but IIRC, the expense was substantially less than an Ohlins. I'm just wondering if it can be done.

A few days ago I read an article about modifying the 250 Ninjas to race. One of the mods was to add a reservoir to the rear schock which provides much better dampening and compression/rebound dampening adjustments. Any reason the same thing couldn't be done to the FZ6 Rear shock?
Thanks...

I painted my exhaust shield and radiator guards black after seeing a post here about doing so. A great mod. Inexpensive, and really gives the bike a more agressive look...

About 175 buck naked. Cliff at Piper Performance was pretty adamant about going with a little heavier than stock R6S spring for two reasons: The FZ6 is a little heavier bike, and he says Yamaha nortoriously undersprings their stuff. Since he's the Racetech guru, and the cost was minimal, I...
Update. Sent my R6S Forks to Piper Performance Racing in North Richland Hills (Near Ft. Worth). Piper is one of two Racetech authorized service centers here in Texas. They completely disassembled the forks, inspected all the components, installed Racetech springs, replaced the seals...
I have noticed a little fluid on the inner tube of my R6S forks, since I moded my FZ6. Pretty sure the fork seals are leaking. I understand that the inverted forks take some specialy tools, but what about non-inverted forks? Are the fork seals something I could do myself?
Thanks,
John
When adjusting preload, is it necessary to loosen anything like the tripple clamp or the fork cap before turning the blue preload adjuster?
Thanks,
John
Scored a set of R6S forks and axle from an '06 off the R6 forum. Got the fender mounting brackets from RyanK (he is the man!) and wheel and brake bushings from a source that shall remain nameless (I don't know if he wants to get a bunch of inquires for mass production).
Once the parts were...
