Cool. I'm going that route then. Were the specs from SBN for the spacers spot on? I'll have no problem making them as a friend is a pro machinist.

Here's the specs for the spacers. Keep in mind that the 04 to 06 front fender is different than the 07 and up. For the my bike the front fender bracket was drilled at 2 inches, and we did measure the rear bracket, we eyeballed it and drilled. It is probably about 3/4 of an inch.
The wheel spacers on the diagram are a one piece design, that is the ultimate set up. The spacers Fred made are a shim (washer), the thickness is .090 inches.
For the axle spacer I'll need to check with Fred. We wrote the measurements down but I don't recall them.

Yes spot on! Fred and I will try to find the axle spacer specs.
Make a bunch and sell them? 
With all the small innovative things you've all have made for the FZ6, it would be awesome to have "kits" put together and sold, tied to the Mod/HowTo thread that the kit is for. You may not get rich but you'll have a lot of happy owners!

That would be up to Fred, he owns the machine tools. Each wheel spacer took about 30 to 45 minutes to make. The large axle spacer was about 45 minutes too, slow work as you can only go as fast as the machine will cut. Fred also provied the aluminium stock to cut from. That isn't cheap either. Bottomline it is slow work. The time required to remove the old fork and install the new one is pretty quick, 30 minutes or so.

I think we could have gone slightly bigger on the axle spacers. There was a difference of 0.020" total between the specs and what we measured.And the spacers themselves wound up each being about 0.005" over the SBN numbers (parting tool wasn't perfectly aligned). So there's some wiggle room in there.
As for the axle spacer, I haven't a clue about the dimensions. Its outer diameter is the same as the axle. The inner diameter is big enough to let the axle bolt pass through. As for the length, I dunno. I made it, and then after we found that it was too long, I shortened it until it worked.
The only way to know for sure would be to pull it out and measure it.

Hey, I've seen those pictures before.
Isn't it a great mod? Like you said, even with just daily commuter riding the difference is very noticeable.
Now, I'd like to do something for the rear shock, but I'm too cheap to spend the cash for an Ohlins or similar.
OK, i want to do this mod. Can you please tell me what to buy from EBAY, like the forks (what years can be used) beside the forks what else do i need to buy. I have a 07, so is the forks, axles and what other items do i need to look for. Also if and when i do the mod is this the time to do the clip-ons or should i just start with the forks and thats all. So ounce again what do i need to buy for the fork set up in complete and what year R6 should be used.

Either custom machined wheel bushings OR spacers from Mc Master Carr (not sure of part numbers, but they have been posted several times).
Either custom machined brake caliper spacers or spacers from McMaster Carr.
Depending on the year of your FZ6, you may need R6 or R6S brake calipers.
Brackets to mount fender to new forks (probably the hardest thing to come up with.)
