Still mind buggling that a company would want to have a clutch setting that is different from everything else and not by a minuscule difference...
and curiously on my Fz8, the clutch is PERFECT, guess they got tired of the critics and "fixed" the darn thing :)
I had my clutch cable adjusted in every way it could be by the dealer (including the adjustment near the air box). What the new adjustable clutch lever should improve is making it closer to the handle bar. Yes there's some adjustment possible with the stock lever by turning the knob, but it has...
Adjustable CNC Clutch Lever For YAMAHA FZ6 FAZER 04-10 | eBay
Found those at just over 30$ shipped it might be worth a try...
I can live with the friction zone being a bit short, I just hate that it's that far, if I can just reduce the distance between the lever and the handlebars I think it...
it shifts fine when in high rpm and your going through the gears quickly, its more at normal pace or in slow speed maneuvers, man that clutch feels far.
If it's normal, I'll just stop worrying about it. It will be my brother's first road bike so it will probably irritate him less then me that...
Hey guys,
I bought a 2005 FZ6. Has 43000km on it but was in tip top condition, really like new. Only thing that bothered me was the clutch. Hard for me to explain it in english, but basically when you let go the lever, the clutch engaged in the last cm, before that, was like lever was fully...
And now where are the mirrors? planning on putting bar end mirrors? Those stock ones as SO bad. I tried convex mirrors in the corners of the stock ones, but still not great.
Ok now I'm sure I'm changing the OEM mirrors, mostly for function then looks. Or I might just buy those cheap convex 2" mirrors you buy at CanadianTires and stick those in the corners of the stock mirrors. I think my elbows look fine but I don't need to see them constantly.
Had to start my bike on compression this morning. After failing to start in 1st (too much compression, wheel locks up). I checked the tire to see if there was dirt on it preventing it from sticking to the asphalt properly (before I tried starting it in 2nd gear and then that worked).
The guy...
Finally since I had other maintenance scheduled on the bike, I simply started it on compression in 2nd gear (cause in 1st gear the wheel would lock up). So oil change, possibly new battery, prestone, and 2 Michelin pilot road 2 tires and it should be like brand new.
Just bought the bike 2 days ago, this morning battery was dead. The guy that had it kept it in a heated garage, I have it in a shed (probably -5C last night). Now I want to lift the tank but am wondering how high I can lift the front of the tank without fuel lines disconnecting underneath, would...
Simply because of engine braking. If you downshift too fast to 1st gear without giving some gas before (while holding clutch) to make revs match revs in the lower gear, the engine compression can lock up the rear tire until revs meet the speed at which the rear wheel is going (or should be...
I had a Triumph Scrambler before so I know a thing or 2 about getting carried away with mods hehe!
I bought this one until my Tiger 800XC arrives in april or may, but will keep it as a fun solo bike :) Only mod I'm considering for now would be a gel seat...and maybe TB exhausts but price of...
