Almost the exact same thing happened to me. I was 16 coming home from work real late, no traffic. I stopped at the stop light and waited for at least three minutes. The light turned green and I went. BTW: this was in a VW dune buggy so there was not excessive speed. :D On came the red lights and...
If anyone is looking for a nice FZ6 let me know before you run out and buy one. Mine might be for sale if I can find the right replacement bike. Anyone have a R100GS wink, wink, nudge, nudge

I have used Dual Star grip heaters on various bikes and love them. No resistors and they do have a high/low settings. I currently have them on my FZ6 and XR650L.
Heated Grip Kit
I have grip puppies on one of my bikes and they heat just fine through them.
I also have a couple pairs of heated...
That is what I have been looking for but I am not seeing one for a 06 FZ6. It looks like that is the year of yours. Which windshield and kit did you order ??

1989 Honda GB500 mostly stock. Only 1500 were ever imported. It took me a long time to find one in good condition. It has the XR650L engine in it but de-bored (is that a word LOL:) to 500cc.

I have a couple of Zumo 550's that get moved from bike to bike. I like them for many reasons. Lets me see the road ahead if I am not familiar with it. Keeps me from getting too lost when off road, acts as a backup speedometer, I can connect it to my Sena and have tunes and a phone if...
As everyone says, It sounds like you are good to go. Yes it will hit on the upper chain plastic guard on the center stand.
A happy chain is a slappy chain,
Too tight is not good.

If the bike has low miles on it then just go ahead and change the front sprocket, if it is a 530 that is. BUT if your chain or sprockets have any wear on them at all change the front, rear, and chain at the same time.
If you are racing and need to loose a few ounces then by all means go with...
