I know your dilemma. That why my wife doesn't ride anymore. I have friends who ride Harley's. They wear no gear. They never have an answer for why they think that is ok. Oh well, it's not!

Well, I ended up exchanging the oil for Mobil 1 Racing 4T 10W-40. Good and available a block away at Advanced Auto Parts.

I picked up the Purolator Pure One PL14610 oil filter and a gal of Shell Rotella T6 full synthetic oil. Am I setup with the ultimate engine saving super lube system?! Since this stuff was published a couple of years ago, have people had issues? Or is there something better now?

For occasional use, the heat packs can't be beat. If you need a commuter, good gloves and/or headed grips are a good idea. I only have good gloves, but I don't ride below 38ish. My ride is about 30 min one way.

Erci, I like your post. I do find it interesting. I think I would wear light mesh gear with padding to class and would be ok during class in that, maybe taking the coat off when not riding. Regarding boots, I have the same kind of issue. Still, some of the touring boots might be walking...

Next really DO get gear ands lots of it. Gear will help you ride more comfortably in weather or cold and more confidently all the time knowing one get off will probably be OK. Helmet: IMO, get one which does what you want. For me, that is fit, airflow, anti-fog and last sunshade Jacket...

Probably 280 with gear. Pretty mild, 10 over, acceleration to 7k and then shift 40-50 depends on driving style alot!

Good to hear you bought the stuff. Good for the economy. I bought the e41's cause they hold more, and I really wanted to avoid a top case. I have to swing my leg over. How do you top case'rs do it?
