I agree, the bike looks awesome... The reality is... it is a sleeved done version of the FZ1 much like the FZ6R is a down graded version of the FZ6... Basically same weight and pyhsical size of the FZ1, but with less HP... So you get maybe a little better gas mileage and slightly cheaper...
Check your charging system first... Start the bike and let it idle... Use a voltmeter across the battery teminals... You should be seeing (with no electrical accessories on) about 13.4V ~ Little more or less is ok...
What's your insurance company, because that's not at all bad for the FZ1... I am probably older than you so my sport bike days have come and gone... I no longer feel the "need for speed".... I just bought the new 2012 DL650... With only about 67hp... It would bore most people here... But the...
I'm in Canada not the US... Most insurance companys here that do bikes list the FZ1 as a sport bike where as the FZ6 considered a "standard" to them if you will... Sportbikes get a hefty 50% surcharge... Some companys won't even insure sport bikes period, no matter the premium...
Good luck with the FZ1... My insurance company (Jevco) lists the FZ1 as a sportbike... Expect a much higher premium than the 1000cc would normally dictate... High insurance premiums and tiny fuel tank make the FZ1 very low on my list of "next" bike....
Funny you went from V-Strom to sport...
Sorry about us not getting back to you right away... I for one was sleeping.... I am sure this kept you up all night seeing how important this is to you.... Speaking of pointless posts.... Yawn.... Seriously, is this that urgent? And why would you want to do this in the first place anyway?
I pegged the throttle to the stop right after leaving the dealer.... Let it hit the rev limiter... It won't break... Besides, It as already seen redline the minute it rolled off the assembly line when the motor was dyno tested for proper operation and output... Do it now as it will probably run...
Leds cause rapid flashing because they use less power than the regular 1156/7 bulbs... You need an inline resistor to fix that... Did you use the appropriate replacement for the front signal lights (1157 bulb)? My '09 uses a wedge dual filiment bulb for the front turnsignals/running lights...
I have just shy of 200,000 km on my standard '07 Ford Ranger... Daily stop and go traffic on my trek to work... I am a contractor so I often carry a load as well... Still orginal clutch... I will be buying a new vehicle before the clutch goes... I have had standards (Trucks and bikes) since the...
