Here is my solution to the FZ6 confort issue. Rode on the protoype to this seat from Ohio to Port Dover at the end of last summer and arrived without the usual pains. I'm very pleased.
Sorry for the delay in responding to your comments. I did the modification myself and had a local dude do the re-upholstery. It was like a $100 in parts and another $150 to the dude. First I purchased a "comfort" seat from Yamaha, so I could disassemble the stock seat and re-use the seat pan. Yes, Mark3d its more difficult to touch the ground... not because the seat is any higher - I don't think it is - but more so because its wider. The width is what is necessary to avoid all the pain... to distribute your body weight over a larger area.
