When was the last time you checked your brake and run lights?

Mine worked fine earlier. Now both filaments are out. Kinda scary. Once a day is not enough to check them. Did they burn out on the way there or the way back? Just as I pulled in the driveway?

That's strange, it sounds like a fuse. I blew mine twice while hooking up a new taillight.It also killed the turn signals/running lights at the same time.

Sounds strange to have lights out on an '07. Been modding recently?

I used to check every other time I rode, but now I'm in the habit of checking them every time I ride. I check both bakes to make sure the light comes on, all 4 turn signals, and both headlights (I need to work on checking the license plate light more often though, I kinda slack on that one)... they all shouldn't take more than 10-15 seconds.

I remember wrightme bringing up a good point in another thread about utilizing as many things as possible to give us favor on the road. He was talking about not riding in a low rpm in case we need to get up and go if we face a situation. Ever since reading that, I try to do just that... eliminate as many factors as I can that could put me in a dangerous situation.

I check my signals and both brake switches as well as hazards and headlights before I head to work and before I head home. Only takes a few seconds and its better to know your signal is out so you can be more cautious when going somewhere rather than getting mad at some cager who turned in front of you when you thought you were signaling.

I sent them an e-mail and immediately received a reply from them, and I also gave them a call on the 800 line and they have sent me repalcements for free. Don't really understand, I thought that LED's last for thousands of hours. Or maybe that these lights are so intense, they just burned out. But according to them, my case was unusual. I will be sending mine back once I intall the new ones.

Vegas - I noticed a few of yours were out on our SoCal ride last month

I check every day in the mornings while I put my gear on. Turn on bike, put gear on while doing a quick check, then i'm off!

Check you tire pressure too. I hadn't checked mine in a while and I was at 30 psi for both tires. Not bad, but for the street I like more pressure for better tire wear.

Just gonna throw this question out there cause after reading this thread I looked... are the left and right signals supposed to be running lights as well? When i have it on the front are running lights the back are not. is this supposed to happen?

I check them at least once a day but even more so if I'm going out for a night ride.

Tire pressures are once a week but should be more often!

no, the rear signal are "off" and blink "on" the fronts are "on" and blink "brighter"




Does anyone have a good pre-flight checklist made up to help remind everyone of everything you should be checking?



Some one said it was odd that steve had an '07 and had a light out. I had my taillight go out within 2k miles (couple of months) on my '08 they jusst burn out there are ones that last forever and some that die quick.... why tempt fate when it takes two seconds to fix?

My stock burned out with in weeks of ownership. Replaced the the 2357 that is brighter but burns out quicker. Used both of them, then a 1157 my brother had at the shop. It burned and now I have one 2357 in the bike, one in the tank bag, and two in the toolbox.

I have over 21000 miles on my 07. I flash my brake lights when stopping, and quite often when stopped at a light. I drive on rough roads, and there are lots of railroad tracks in my surronding area. Its just hard on bulbs to be mine.

the only bulb I ever had to replace was the license plate light, I did notice that when I traded in my FZ6 one of the aftermarket rear blinkers had quit working.

I end up checking mine about twice a week, but i have always noticed that headlight bulbs at least seem to burn out after shutting down the car probably burns out on cooldown.

I leave for work every morning at 530 when its still dark, I check it without thinking about it every time
