Seen it like that a few times myself, but it is such a deep and wide gully, that it looks all but impossible...lol. Untravelled South Aussies would not believe it if you told them. You'd have to point out the high water marks. Lol. And it happens so fast.

Warrill Creek on the Cunningham Highway at Amberley went from a dry creek bed to an 8.2 metre peak in 6 hours :eek: closed the Cunningham Highway till early yesterday morning...... There were small waves lapping the southern end of runway 15 at Amberley...

Yes, the mouth has been flowing properly for the first time in years for a couple of months now!

Lake Bonnie is full for the first time in 10 years...

And when Mikey were up at Murray Bridge for the Sprintcars on the weekend, i noticed that the Murray was looking very healthy...god knows we needed it, especially in the fruit & wine growing districts in the Riverland....the drought has hit incredibly hard in this part of SA/Victoria...

We need a lot more water to flush through the system though...salinity levels in some parts of the Murray Basin has been devastating, and much "repair" of the river system is needed...

Thats fantastic news for the Murray , our water is on its way & they reckon 2-3 months to get there :thumbup:

My boss heads out to Lake Gardiner for the Dry Lake racing season at the end of March , we keep telling hims it full of water there must be some truth in that according to dry lake racers website , anything on the news down there about it ??

I did hear something on the radio the other day....But i think that was about Lake Alexandrina...

Good day yesterday.

Did an Advanced Ride Day yesterday with the RACWA. Really good. Mike tagged along. They had a mini track and it was awesome. Picked up a lot of tips for better cornering. Lots of slow cornering/slalom etc. Had a blast. Had quite a lean going aroudn the track at the end of the day :rockon:

Luckily, it was only about 36'C :eek:

Good timing Kazza, with Tassie coming up soon....have been trying to ride as much as possible in the lead up, to make sure i am nice and "sharp" on the bike when we go away...

I got picked up for a few bad habits - mainly tapping the back brake when cornering slowly, rather than keeping soft pressure.

They didn't pick on Mike for anything :(

Hmmmmm , makes me wonder what bad habits I could have picked up ;)

Sounds like a lot of fun Kaz , I really should do one of these advanced rider days :thumbup:
 
I passed with flying colours so I can now do the tuning/track days they have......

That looks like a lot of fun.

I still feel like a damn newbie though .... but I gotta say, I rode a lot better than a lot of the guys there that had been riding for 20 years!

I wish I had more time on my bike and could rack more kilometres up - some people on this forum have said I don't deserve to be here because I don't ride much - F*** them I say :rockon:

I love riding and we aren't all in a position to ride very day.

Jeez, I should be in the rant thread :)

Really ?? Who told you that load of BS :spank: everybody belongs :thumbup:

Hell , I dont doubt for a second that after your day yesterday there are any number of things you do better than me & I have been riding for nearly 20 years :D

I don't have any bad habits......a few unsavoury ones is about all:BLAA:.

Seriously though. Any further education in any form of driving is a good thing, as it increases awareness of self while driving....makes you assess yourself more. It'll teach you some things you didn't know, maybe one here and there that'll save your life one day:rockon:
