Finally!!

Reiobard, are you serious, 6100 with tax and PDA and all crap they throw in? That means bike was more like 5300 - 5500 bucks.
At which dealer did you get it?

Zack

I had no tax, they only had the $200 dealer prep fee and i negotiated $5900 for the bike. I took $300 less than i owed on my trade (had to pay off the $300 leftover on that loan) but i wanted to take advantage of that deal when it was on the table.

Congrats on the plunge! Beautiful bike. Talk to FZinNH - he is also in the midst of buying and can give you info on dealers and deals so you can bargain down some

SHinNH, I've been all over the dealers in the area as well as out of state. I'm getting the very same bike in the same color. Excellent choice!!!

After over a week of non-stop negotiations, I've got Rochester Motorsports and Freedom Cycle (Concord) down to $6418 OTD. Plaistow Powersports is $6420 OTD. Plaistow and Freedom are both offering 10% one-time discount on all accessories and gear at the time of the sale. RMS is offering me an HJC helmet of my choice at their cost.

I'm not sure I'd have put money down without negotiating a final sale price. Did you sign anything at all that listed any numbers? What dealer are you going to? Accept nothing more than the $6418 OTD price and tell them you know someone they are already offering this price to if it is one of these three places. Cycles 128 in MA was $6499 OTD.

I have asked them all for freebies and they all said this was their absolute rock-bottom price and could only offer the discounts I listed above.

We need to set up a NH/MA/ME (or New England) FZ6 meet this summer!

Let me know how you've made out and who you're using for a dealer. I don't want to see you get taken for a ride!

We will see what I can come up with.. Maybe I should be like that commercial with the guy that brings the head-shrinker with him to the car dealer.

That would be me... :p They all hate to see me coming!

Oh yeah, dankatz is just a bit to south of Boston so he is around also... we are convincing him to buy an FZ...

Dankatz and I have been conversing in PMs... I'm doing my dead-level best to get that Kat into the FZ6!!!

Maybe we should do a group buy at Plaistow Powersports!?! Hmmmm.... Buying power via strength in numbers?

Just from past experiences could you use Freedom cycle instead, my girlfriend at the time (Now wife) was all but molested by the sales guy when i was buying my first bike there. He kept staring and talking at her chest and asked her out on a date while i was in signing the paperwork. I found out after we left... but still... Since then i have been very unimpressed with their service and customer service. Freedom on the other hand has always been top notch. your choice but they have screwed me over at Plaistow a few times and i will never buy anything there again,

I am leaning more on Freedom Cycle because I'm hearing all good things from people who have used them. Plaistow has been more of a pressure sale and they keep bugging me to put the money down and seal the deal "before there are none left!" Ha! Rochester? I tried hard to buy my 2005 FZ6 from them but after spending 90 minutes waiting for sales people, we gave up and stormed out. This is AFTER walking in and stating exactly what we wanted to "take home today" and they left us waiting... So... that took me to Leighton's in Lee where we bought the FZ6 AND a Vino scooter at the same time. The deal was done an the bikes loaded in under one hour. Sadly, they are in the process of selling the business and couldn't help me out with the 2008 models. Not my first bad experience with RMS either.... Thus, I'm reluctant to buy from them. Besides, Concord is a very nice ride if we leave here and take the back roads on the bikes!

Maybe you can meet me for my first ride on the 2008 when I go pick it up?

Those of you who bought from Yamaha Credit... how long did it take to get your title after the payoff?

Thanks!!

if it is riding season when you go pick it up i would definitely meet up with you to get the new bike. I have been nothing but pleased with my Freedom experience and have been going there for a bout 3 years now and they always do their best to take care of me and my wife. they always seem grateful for any sales to us (When i bought my leathers there last year they were tossing in freebies like bike cleaner, and some misc other things in with the sale).... Didn't even have to ask. and their building is beautiful, they just built it 2 or so years ago and they did a very good job with the layout.:thumbup:

This is lowest I heard about here! Was it 2007 or 2008?
I'll call you in when buying my bike (in works)!

it was an 07 that I bought on Dec. 7th...but the shop had lost it's lease and had to blow out as many bikes as possible.

I guess that sweet situation is long over by now. I guess 2007's are gone in other places as well. What do you think should be good price for 08 model? I am looking at Freedom Cycle on line as we speak.

aren't you in Canada? i think FZinNh has a pretty sweet deal set up with Freedom at $6418 OTD and if you can get them to mimic that i would be all over it.

Welcome.........I believe you folks in New Hampshire are very lucky as far as tax goes, because you have none, sales tax that is. Hampton NH, I've been to Hampton Beach, is that the same place or nearby. And yes for you other NH members, I've been to Concord and Manchester as well.

Yes I am, Toronto to be exact. Mapquest says 517 miles (850km) away from place you linked. 6418 OTD sounds fine to me. Have to pay more at the border when importing it into Canada but it is still pretty good deal. Much better than what we pay here for same thing. I am seriously thinking about doing it.

well, when/if you come down let me know, we can grab some lunch, just make sure you can get the same deal before making the trip.

The beach is right next to Hampton, yes! I'm not far from there in Dover, just 12 minutes from the ocean. Come on up!!

I'll buy your lunch if you come get one at Freedom Cycle! Then the three of us can go ride! What's the looney compared to the dollar these days? The conversion may mean you pay even LESS than I do. Just convert before you come though.

Appreciate the help and advice.. I will definatlely take those numbers with me when I go in to talk to them in the morning. Did you go talk to the BOSS yourself or have to go through the salesman?

It would be cool to try and plan a ride.

As far as dealerships go, the only bad thing I can say is that this particular salesman didnt pay close enough attention to what I had originally asked for and tried to sell me some other bike...

you must love Rt 1a. great road, cars suck on it though...

Agreed, cars suck on any road that's why I stick to back roads with no lines in them. Sure makes things more fun....

As far as sales go, I don't talk to anybody except the sales manager. I send them a dealer invoice for the bike I want and an additional page that has my needs for accessories and what I want to pay. I have yet to be turn down. There are way too many dealers out there and I have no desire to waste my time haggling at their store. I pay roughly $15.00 for the invoice and that tells me everything I want to know. Yeah, and way more than they want me to know.....
