Hey all.

After about a year of searching, I finally decided to take the plunge and get a bike. It will be my first bike, and already I'm thinking about what I can do to it.

I just put my Deposit Saturday on a 08 FZ6 in Blue. The dealer didnt even have many bikes in the showroom yet. So Im getting the first one hes getting about the end of the month. I CANT WAIT.

Congrats on the new bike, Looks like the NH representation is growing, I am over in concord, and i believe the FZinNH is out your way.

Can't wait to ride this year!!!

Thanks. Yeah, I noticed that. I have wanted a bike for so long, and now its all but mine. Just wish it would warm up soon.

Not really sure yet.. we havent done any price negotiations yet. The salesman was originally trying to get me to buy a 06 SV1000 for $7900.. I told him to check on financing... he called today to tell me I was approved for 7500.. Then I dropped the bomb about not wanting that crap and wanted the 08 FZ6.. but the dealer only addes about 300 for extra fees. So it looks like right now. $7200 without any negotiatiing.

Looks great! I love the dark blue, very nice. The price looks pretty good, I hate to admit it but I paid more than that for my '07 two months ago. Keep dealing and see what you can get.

Congrats on the plunge! Beautiful bike. Talk to FZinNH - he is also in the midst of buying and can give you info on dealers and deals so you can bargain down some

yeah, but you can also argue that nothing has changed from 07-08 other than the color. You can also give a call to some other dealers and see if they have leftover 07's. Then you can lie and say "I can go buy the same bike only a leftover for $XXXX.xx if you can work with me, then i will consider getting the 08 istead...

congrats on the bike.....I like the color. Welcome to the family!

Oh yeah, dankatz is just a bit to south of Boston so he is around also... we are convincing him to buy an FZ...

Thanks.. that will give me something to work with.. I know with it being the new years model, they wont budge much if any.. but I can try.

Negotiate hard, there is always a deal to be had, most times it is dependant upon how well you negotiate not whether they are trying to retain stock.

We will see what I can come up with.. Maybe I should be like that commercial with the guy that brings the head-shrinker with him to the car dealer.

I was thinking that the first Mod I would do would be an exhaust mod. I liked the one BoneMan did to his, but dont think Im that talented to do it myself. I guess tho, If I dont want to have to pay big money to have it done, I better learn to get handy..

Reiobard, are you serious, 6100 with tax and PDA and all crap they throw in? That means bike was more like 5300 - 5500 bucks.
At which dealer did you get it?

Zack

Bought my 08' February 14th and paid $6500. With all their doc fees and state tax it was around $7005 otd. I had a trade in, so I did not pay all that out of pocket. The dealer I went to also had none in stock, but was able to locate one for me in my home state of Ohio, and had it shipped to the dealership within a few days ( NO charge , of course). I had the same price offered to me by another dealership, but this one seemed a little more energetic in finding one. I would definately recommend dealing/calling/negotiating with at least one more dealership to see if they will compete with each other. You've got nothing to loose but a phone call/shop visit. Even if you only save $100 over another dealer, you could use that towards a good pair of gloves. One more thing, if blue is the color you want, make sure you don't let them talk you into the black. If they can get a black one, they can find a blue one. It's your bike, get what YOU want. Just my two cents...Matt
