Drag Bars

Just got in after a 120 mile ride to look at a car,with my new Drag bars fitted.
They really do make a massive difference!
The route was a mix of motorways (Thought my bloody neck was gonna break keeping it at 100 for 30 miles!) And 'B' roads (loads of twistys)
Absolutely no aches on my wrists and so much easier to chuck around.
The only downside is I'm going to have to modify my Puig screen slightly,as the controls foul them and the levers are too far up in the air.
The bar end mirrors I ordered and the new bar ends are on back order
But like a kid at Christmas,I threw the bars on anyway
They are adonised gold,which I'm not too sure about,but I've been thinking of detailing the calipers and rad shrouds that colour anyway,so I'll get the rattle cans out.

I went shopping for bars today (and track bikes ). Am considering the FZ1 bars, or the drag bars Wolfman recommended. Have to keep looking :Flash:

The drag bars I suggested are almost identical to the fz1 bars, only difference is they are about 2cm narrower, half the price, and chrome finished, rather than painted.

Yeah I played about with the bars 'till I had a mix of comfort and chuckability.
I don't know if it's because I sit right on the tank,but the bolt upright position seems to suit me fine.
I also fell out of love with the screen,so that's sitting in the shed.

I think you're doing it wrong! That upturn surely puts your wrists in an awkward position? Have you tried them flat (bending toward you)? I've never seen bars positioned like this and can't get how it could possibly work! Not having a go, just want to ensure you've given the flat position a fair go

I must say, i have to agree with this....i find them much more natural, with them turned down, and it gets you just that little bit further over the front wheel, giving you more feel for the road, and the bike definitely feels like it is turning in quicker.

You don't need to drill it necessarily. I opted to file down the plastic pin instead, on the switchgear, so I had more freedom of placement. You can still torque it enough to prevent slippage.

I did try them in a flatter position,but found the upturn gives me more leverage and after a 100 mile trip,there was no probs with my wrists.

My Bars are these....

Street Bars VH10/S, motorcycle luggage, hard soft motorcycle luggage, racks, touring luggage | Ventura

And yes, they are almost identical to FZ1 bars, except for finish...the Ventura bars are finished in a decent quality chrome finish.

Not to thread jack but....I like those drag bars...New bars are surely on the top of my list to do. The stock ones are just not cutting it...Very uncomfortable...Most of my riding is country roads toolin around just riding rollin through twisties as I love them very much!! Anyway..I have only had this bike for a month or so now and am learning that these bars have to go!! I can not get comfortable at all unless I ride straight up and down at all times.. So.... Drag bars are on the list....I am not seeing any prices or ways to order however....

Although the Ventura drag bars are similar to the FZ1s, I suspect the sweep is smaller (= good imo) on the Venturas. Just an FYI.
