The "Off Topic" thread...

The first Twilight movie wasn't bad.

The second movie..... me and the missus went and saw it and I tell you what, the highlight of the movie was when she almost killed herself on a motorcycle, it was trying to do the world a favour. (Altho the rebuild from scrap heaps to brand new bikes was less than beleivable).
It was probably the worst movie I've paid good money to see in the cinema, terrible acting by most of the actors, almost no real character development, must have had a $300 usd budget (yes 300 NOT 300 million), storyline was so predictable that I could have fallen asleep for the middle part of the movie (and probably enjoyed it more) and yet they still somehow made it bad predictable, not "oh thats the kind of end of movie i wanted to see".
The only people I've talked to who enjoyed it where the hardcore fans (twihards?) who loved the books, and apparently reading the book instills a unassailable high opinion of any connected production.

Giving it a 1 star out of 5.
The 1 star is because it had moon in its name, and I'm still working on a moon related nickname for my bike (cause its white).

Yes, yes, yes. The book was better than the film, but Eclipse (3rd film) comes out next year.

But beer is like 5 or 6 % alcohol. The rest is water ...lol. Might as well have a shandy ya big poofs:Flip:...lol.

Real men drink 40+% gear:rockon:. And believe me, I know. I drank 170,000 bucks of grog in 10 years:eek::spank:

Not gonna take criticism from folk that drink like a plastic flower....lol.:Flip::BLAA:

I might hate this crap, but I am smart enough to do a trueblood v's twilight theme night at flashdance, which should see at least a thousand chicks dressed up as vampires, etc, along with a few blokes who are still too young to realize that you don't have to dress up like a "sparkly faggot" in order to get a leg over!

Drink like a plastic flower? I bet I could outdrink most of you with vodka redbulls (anything else, not so much...), but I'm not promoting excessive drinking. That would be irresponsible. :spank:

Think of what you could have bought with the $170,000. Mind you, I'd hate to add up what I've spent over the years - could have bought me a lot of Louis Vuitton handbags :rolleyes:

And what is your definition of a real man? Very curious.

lol....it's all in good fun, and at the moment, it seems to be the fashionable thing to do....bag Twilight!

as for the sneaky bit....yes, us marketing types are not known for our discression!

I dunno I'm not usually one to jump on the bashing bangwagon unless I think its really warranted, and I work at a cinema part time as one of my jobs, so I normally see most of what comes out.
Had high hopes that where dashed away (esp since the advertisement for it was well done)! But yea lets hope the third movie makes up for it!

True Blood is interesting too, saw the first few episodes (was basically a porno) and couldn't be bothered watching further, apparently it calms down a bit and is quite a good show. (the girls accent was soooooooo annoying)

Plus Twilight seems to polarise people you either love it or hate it, so it makes for some rather conflicting opinions most of the time :D

I'd love to join you lot, but with all the down weeks at work, I've got bugger-all leave left now :disapprove:

I am working through Xmas shutdown, so may have some annual leave available, now have to convince the wife it would be good for me to get away for a few days...lol

Well you know im in Jamie , looking at google maps right now :thumbup:....

How many days do we want to play down there for ?? I can organise some cheap cheap accomodation in the NSW snowfields if you wanted to spend a few days touring around aswell :don'tknow:

Well, with 11 months to plan, up our sleeves....i am thinking that i might actually have a "real" holiday...not just pi$$ off for a few days, and rush like a maniac, back home, for work...only stress is kids!

I reckon most would find it hard to spare more than a full week...but i would definitely be interested in the snowfields thing....just anotyher excuse to ride somewhere!!! am guessing, the roads up that way, are not straight!

I would be happy to make into a big tour...say 5000km's plus!

It's a 2500 - 3000km trip to PI and back, normally, anyway, by the time, you take all the long, more fun routes, getting there and back.

OK , i'll ring my old girl tomorrow while she's at work and pencil us in for a night or 2 in her bosses cabin or train carriages which ever is available :thumbup:.... I'll be in touch with some more interesting things
