It gets up to around 55 degrees C and steamy when the air condish shuts down I'd say. Literally like a sauna.

That poor Quakka would 5h1t a duck if I took it for a hard flog on a 40+ degree day:eek:....lol...and it's way too hot to push it very far....lol.
 
I rode to work today.
The traffic was horrible, it was boiling hot and humid or dry I couldn't tell which it just sucked. Every set of lights I stopped at the fan came on, and I could feel burning hold air being pushed back into me by it.
By the time I got to work I think I could have fried a pair of chickens by hanging them behind the fan on the way there.

When I finished work I came out, thinking wow it rained on me (did I forget to mention that before) on the way to work, so it will be nice and cool now.
NOPE! Still horrible, although not quite so bad. Went the long way home so I could avoid most lights, was an alright ride, but not great.

You pretty much know it sucks when speeding up DOESN'T cool you down.
 
Well after a week and a half of hellishly hot weather in Adelaide, today it finally cools down by twenty degree's....and the heavens open up...which is great as we need the rain,...but!!!! And it's a big but...no freaking good for riding a bike!

Aaaarrrrrrgh!
 
Had the privilege of having a few spirited moments against an MT-01 on the way home before ;)... 1st was a roll on from 110ish , initially he had me but then i got those 4 little pots hummin' and from around 6000 BYE BYE big boy :rockon: , 2nd was a good run away from a set of lights :eek: :spank: i dont condone street racing but this was an oportunity i had been wanting and the road leads straight onto a motorway so i thought if he goes im going :thumbup: , lights go green MT-01 jumps fast and goes as i ride the clutch trying to keep the front wheel planted.. MT out by 3-4 metres , i snick 2nd front pulls off the ground nice and gentle as she settles down and i get the business happening :drool: , start to pull him back grab 3rd and...yeah Baby XJR :cheer: XJR :cheer: XJR :cheer: :D I love my bike , just thought i'd share..
 
Anyone have the older style FZ6? The one with the temp bars along side the fuel gauge like my 05?
Wednesday I hit 4 bars on the temp gauge whilst in traffic. Thats 1 from the top. I nearly pulled over but knew I was a few mins from a quiet rd where I could get some cooler air into it.

Anyone experienced this before without a meltdown? Not sure what I would have done if I was in grid lock with no hope of a cooler option in sight :(

Yeah, my '04 hits 4 bars, that's when the fan kicks in. Think mine has 6 bars though, not 5???

Like Dave , mine used to do it all the time in traffic and mine was an 05 model.... Fans kick in and she is all good :thumbup:

Just got back from a ride in the rain......never said it stops me, just annoys the crap out of me....cause i have to clean my bike after....which always takes forever to do it properly....

Went for a blat to the city Saturday morning in the drizzle.

Spook passed his Learners so he wanted the GPX to get a check-up before riding it more. You will see more of him in future just to warn you.

Got to test out the new headset which was pretty kew to have a laugh at him on the way. Worked pretty good all-round actually.

Got there and noticed they had a Michelin Road II sitting dere on the shelf. Sweet :rockon:

I am seriously gaga about the awe inspiring confidence this tyre gives to the handling of the bike. Chicken strips be-gone!

Oh and forgot to mention he rode bitch on the way back which, surprisingly, he didn't complain about when we arrived home. I felt sure that I was going to get a blasting for speed or something.

Also forgot to mention I took the wife for a ride down paris creek road last weekend. All good cept for the tail gater in a 4WD.

Huge fan of the Michelin Pilot Road 2's....awesome tyres! Cant fault em', grip like poop to a blanket, awesome in the wet, and they last a bloody long time!

That's great...especially considering the amount of commuting you do...i like my conti's i have on now, but they dont wear anywhere near as long, although they have maintained shape well, and have not "feathered" after about 5000km's...
