The "Off Topic" thread...

Just the standard one mate,YTB12-4 I think it was.

i think that the Yamaha batteries are actually made by Yuasa...which is a good thing, decent batteries! Am thinking that mine must be due soon, but i went out and started the black bike for the first time in nearly 2 weeks yesterday.....and it's been cold, and it still started first time...

I might grab myself a new battery too, still got the original in my bike, riding for 4.8 years now.

I tried out my heated grips this morning, they worked a treat, hands were nice and toasty when I got to work.

Best thing (after the pipes) that I have done to the bike.... Umm, it's the only thing other than the pipes that I've done to the bike...lmao

Thanks to Steve at Maximoto for supplying them, well worth the $130.

Dude at $90 it cant be a yuasa, ive been pricing them lately and chinese ones are 90 yuasa ive been quoted 180. Genuine battery has been great, 5 years on flattened twice, played up little way back but came good again.

Wow thats a good price, I got quoted $800 for a authentic (i think) set when I got my bike, because I was really interested in them since in my experience any rides of length on a motorway, no matter how good your gloves, leads to cold fingers!

Howdy fellow Aussies,

I'm new here and just thought i'd say hi.

I see most of you are from S.A. I live in Newcastle N.S.W but don't hold it against me :D
How many Aussies do we have here anyway?

how's this for weird...just been down to view a workshop/shop in a local industrial estyate, which i am looking at to lease...for bikes, and a new business, and after talking turkey with the owner on lease rates, etc, for about half an hour...including putting in a firm offer on the lease of the property, i find out, that he was the guy that stopped in front of me on Lobethal Road late last year, and put me in hospital!

He doesnt realise it is me, and i did not enlighten him.....as i want the property, but i did get to hear his side of the story!

Wonder if his wife will work it out when he gets home, and see's my name and phone number on the offer i put in????

this could get interesting!

I got the Oxford heated grips, self install, pretty easy, (just gotta find somewhere to hide all the wiring). I agree, there's nothing worse than cold fingers. I got to work the other day, and couldn't use my hand for the first hour... sucks.

Welcome Mac!
I just joined very recently too, and its certainly a very friendly group, especially all the aussies!

Thats a pretty amazing coincidence Wolfman, lets hope his wife doesn't realise or he may have another try when you next go to visit! Good luck on the lease though!
Is the story posted somewhere already, and is it the accident that lead to your current plaster?
