What was your initial motivation to look at another bike? If you dont mind me asking?

I feel confident enuff , sorta
.......Mate i just love the look of the thing , it looks animal , sounds animal , feels animal , bleeds excitement........I have always liked the bike but not until i got up close and personal did i really fall in love with it , i've got this thing that you should always update every few years anyway......Works out to be cheaper i reckon , dont worry though if they cant come to the party on the figures im looking at then an 09 Fizzer is very much on the cards

I reckon the FZ1 is the perfect fit for you...i'd be taking one of them for a ride...reckon you might change your mind again!

Well i did look at one of them and the Empty 01 and i test rode an XJR the other day........To many choice's , i need a lotto win so i can by all of them

I reckon the XJR would be nice...but a bit heavy....the MT01, is a more relaxed, and slightly cumbersome ride, but the FZ1 givesyou light weight, glorious power, and a smart seating position.....having spent a lot of time chasing a very similar bike...the Z1, i would say the FZ1 is gonna tick more boxes for you.

Of course if you think the R1 is "your bag baby" then go for it...lol.
My thoughts on the matter of faired bikes are as follows.....

LOL! Plus the FZ1 is a much better looking bike...the rear end of the R1 is horrible....and what about riding further than 150km's....ouch!

Just handy to have mate and cheap to do.I also picked up a voltmeter with ambient temp gauge real cheap that will plug into this so I can check my battery without lifting the tank.

G'day guy's , just thought i give you a quick update on the R1 situ.........As it stands the $$$$ are tight but doable i have tonight to and tomorrow to make the decision.......Finance is fine but the insurance is the killer $1800 for 12 months ........Test rode an FZ1 while i was there and they are one very very sweet ride , weekly repayments are only $10 cheaper than the R1 though......Insurance is half that of the R1 which is more reasonable :thumbup:.........Then they offered me the 09 FZ6 $28/week repayments and insurance the same as im paying now , they will change my pipes and rack over to the new one and fit a pc3 as part of the deal :cheer:....Only downside , there is a 5-6 week wait for the colour i want being the super freakin' sexy yellow .....Ho hum what to do , aslo have an 08 MT-01 run out going for $16000 ......I hate the choices in a Yamaha dealer
