The "Off Topic" thread...

well first day down and i got to say we got crap seats. we are in gold stand in wakefield st right at one end we can see 20 meteres of track at flat out speed. The hype of all grandstand seats under shade, well ours arent, full sun the whole time we were there. On a good note caught up with one of the guys from GRM cause i won a day in the pits with them on saturday, so today i got my pit shirt and pit hat. The guy told me we are going to be out on the grid before the race, and sounds like this will be a great day.

Make sure you take a hat, water & sunscreen to the front straight, it is like a million degree's on the grid....you will get cooked in 10 minutes...experience!

cheers got it all 3L hydro pack and the rest. Never been on the grid so looking forward to it, even though it wasnt hot today it was damn hot there.

yeah, it's weird, can be 25c out and about, but on pit straight...it will be like 40c! and your shoes will stick to the track!

Just a quick ask is any of the sa boys interested in a new toshiba net book NB 100 thinking about selling the one i got with my telly ive only charged it to make sure it works.

Popped in to the Clipsal to day myself. Just today. It's never crowded on Thursday and there's plenty to see.

For all you southern guys, a few of the RidingSA guys got sick of the politics and crap at RSA, so they have started their own forum...

Real Riding

Some good, funny guys and girls, I head down to their coffee nights whenever I can.

I know, ANOTHER bloody forum, just thought I would mention it.

Doh! I'll have to take a peek when i get time...lol.

Yeah, i now i have to work out photobucket, so i can voilate that forum with a zillion pics! :Flip:

LMAO....Violate...lol:spank::spank::spank:.

If you're on pit straight in the Grandstand the shade only does any good if you're up from the middle to the top. Otherwise you bake until about 4-ish.

I had Pirie St Gold passes for a few years, was good that the sun basically wnet over the back of us, so plenty of shade, but our seats were right on the edge, squashed up against the guard rail (to stop you falling off the side... you know, alcomohol and all that :rof: ). Gave them up and just went on General admission for the last 2 years.

I got spoilt first time I went, my brother-in-law got a corporate ticket (from his work) to the Senna Club and he didn't want to go, so gave it to me... never been the same since.

:)

Just got home this morning from the Riverland, and Mildurs....976km's from 6pm Sunday Night till 11am this morning!

Wore my new one piece R-Jays leather suit i bought to wear on the track...as i thought it might help wear them in...

well when i left the Riverland this morning to come home, it was damn cold...and they are have a perforated leather front, and as they are race leathers, they are a very snug fit...so it's not as if i could wear too much under them...then it started to rain, just after i left, and rained all the way home for the next 260km's...

Man it's suppose to be summer, i damn near froze my nuts off! Leathers are nice and supple now at least...or should i say...saturated, and my face and hands were blue from the cold when i got home....

Anyway, just thought i would share!

I had a few rides over the winter where my hands got so damn cold I had to stop because I couldn't feel the throttle or brake lever anymore. I was in the middle of nowhere and used the bike's exhaust to warm them back up. It hurts more when they warm up and come back to life than it does to just deal with frozen and numb fingers!

I stopped at a shop in the middle of nowhere, and bought a coffee, just to warm my hands...coffeee tasted like mud!, then moved onto their pie warmer...worked for about 2 minutes when i got back on the bike!

I missed my heated grips for the first time since i trashed them in my accident, back in December! time to buy another set....also did not have my Powermadd wind deflectors on...as i did not think i would need them...it was 32c yesterday!

Oh, and i did have my winter gloves on this morning...just no thermal inner's to go inside them...as i only thought it would be wet, not cold as well.

Sheesh....

Sounds like great fun mate  , are you sure those leathers were pre-shrunk coz they'll never fit again :D.......One question though , Where's the pic's ???????

Just put the leathers on again...they fit beter than they did this morning when i put them on before the ride....

As for photo's...did not take one single photo while i was away this week....camera has a cracked LCD viewing screen, and until i get it fixed i am giving it a rest..as it is a pain in the A to use right now!

Did anyone else see the big crash that was pasted all over the front pages of Adelaide's Sunday Mail....2 drag racers (WRX & a Skyline) came together at over 150km/h.....horrific stuff! Here's a link to the story....

And the cops are picking on bike riders.....

:(

That'll learn them wont it :disapprove: , i know weve all been young and dumb at one stage but never that speed in suburbia...But yes it appears that we are still the trouble makers in the world :(.....QLD past new laws up here today similar to your bikie laws.....From my reading of them , when we go on our Bris Fizz group ride we are technically in breach of the law and therefore we can be arrested :spank:
