Got my Bike Dyno'd

Had a fun day yesterday. Did an air box mod. including a new K&N filter and got the Power Commander mapped. Runs a lot stronger now and the acceleration is smoother with more low end power. Yup those are 2 Bro exhaust.

Backfiring is bad. What most people think "back firing" on a motorcycle is actually decel popping because the unburnt fuel is combusting with the air injected by the AIS system.

Very nice I'm quite interested in your results. Well, your seat of the pants review of the results sounds encouraging. I sometimes bluesky about dynoing mine, etc. Two Bro's cautioned against Dynoing the CF cans tho. If the facility is well ventilated, or the runs separated or something...would that negate that concern? /shrug

Don't have too much fun w/that tuned bike now

Got Dyno'd

Got my FZ6 dyno'd yesterday. Big difference in the way the bike runs. Better power at the lower RPM's and very linear compared to previous performance.

I installed a K&N air filter and modified the air box for a bigger gulp. I gained 4 rear wheel horse power. My Air to Fuel is much better than it was. I rode from Anaheim to San Diego yesterday and it's pretty exciting to experience all the mods with the proper Power Commander mapping.

I wound it up a couple of times and the sounds and performance with air-box mod and retuning have given me a new respect for that motor.

Yes, share results...and the map if you're willing.
I'm tuning mine by feel now, until I can afford pipes of some kind and a real tune. No sense in blowing money I don't have if I'm going to change it. Minse runs very strong, except I do notice it seems to sign off a bit predictably between 6-7k rpm.

I haven't loaded the map from The Power Commander yet but soon as I do I'll share it with our group.
Please keep in mind these maps can vary with other conditions of your bike.
There will be a big difference considering you might have stock exhaust, air filter, or non modified air box.

Here are the basics of the bike so that others may benefit:
First off this map is for off road.....Ya know track N stuff like that...

06 FZ6
2 Brothers slip on exhaust (Exhaust still has Cat)
Power Commander PClll USB
K&N air Filter with modified air box

To tell you the truth I don't know how this map will benefit you over the maps you may find from the Power Commander web site. For instance, I originally used the Akropovic map for my bike and it seemed to make it run better than the stock map with the 2 Bro. exhaust but it was never the right map and ran a little rich. There are too many variables that would make a map the right or wrong map for your bike. For those with the same mod's this map should get them pretty close.

We started at 87 RWHP and got it to 91 RWHP.

Heard about the CF caution and that's one of the reasons I opted for an alloy instead. Then again since we're using 2 cans that get to somewhat share the output maybe they're safer from a burnout.

The worry about the CF is they will over heat and can "burn" the carbon fiber which would make it brittle - not good. A strong fan blowing on the cf cans would help prevent the burn.

I've also pulled the map from the Power Commander so I can share it with those interested.
