I got an email to today from CG and they are having a 25% off of everything in stock sale on 1/1/09.

They also have 40% off of Frank Thomas and Dianese gear. You can get a set of Frank Thomas one piece XTi Leathers for $275ish!

Cycle Gear - Motorcycle Apparel, Parts and Accessories

I see a new Shoei in my future and maybe a new set of leathers!

Thanks for the heads up Pete

For you guys running around with the foam stock back "protector" that comes in most jackets I Highly recommend picking up a Dainese Wave Back Protector and replacing it. At 40% off that'd be a awesome upgrade. I use this one because it's ventilated and it gets hot as hell in Texas. It's extremely comfortable, you forget it's even there most the time. They have one that isn't vented for you folks in the upper lats.

I only bring this up because recently a friend of our family was in an accident, broadsided a suv that ran a stop sign at ~50mph. Broke his back, he's still in the hospital going through rehab. He will never walk again without assistance. This protector might not have prevented it.. but it damn sure couldn't have hurt.

i picked up a a-star back protector (just the little plate that goes in the back of jackets).. seems like it would do better than the foam in mine. havent tried it, but wondering if people had experience with it.

good call on the sale though.. nice to get a heads up

Thanks for the reminder! Be there or be :squid:- Just kidding.

All textile riding jackets are 50% off too!

My list is:

Jacket for Son
New Riding Boots
ICON Vest
Gloves for Son
New Front Tire
Chain Tool

You are welcome everyone.

I learned this last night to when I was in my local CG trying on leathers. If an item is not in stock ask them if they can get it from another store and they will bring it in for you, the discount still applies.

Well I went to Cycle Gear before heading into work. I needed to get a new helmet, as the one that I have (Scorpion EXO700) is starting to show signs of wear after everyday use for almost two full years. I was planning to buy my next helmet from our forum sponsor Forsyth Motorsports, which offers 10% discounts across the board as well as free shipping and no tax.
But the 25% discount seemed a pretty good deal to me so I got me a new Shoei RF1000(with design) for $363 out the door. So was this a good deal?

On another note, as I was inside the store looking for a new helmet, I saw this rider park alongside my bike in the same parking spot ( ironically, no motorcycle parking and not enough space to park in front of store) and do a flop and drop. Scared the daylights out of me because he came inches from knocking my bike over.

I was in Cycle Gear last week talking to the salesperson that I normally deal with. She mentioned the sales that they have going on and I kind of shrugged it off because they always have random sales. She said that this is the biggest that she's seen and listed off a bunch of good deals, so I might head back in and see what's still there.

VEGASRIDER, glad to hear that the flop and drop didn't gather your bike up as well! I didn't think my CG had motorcycle parking as everyone parks on the sidewalk, but I double checked last week and sure enough they have two spots split for MCs, and made one spot in front of the off road shop next door into MC as well. :D

i got a new shoei, iridium blue visor, brake fluid and pilot roads for $704, i also did motocredit so no payments for 90 days, no interest either!!!! woohooo!

i picked up the gopro hero cam... gonna make some movies with the bike... also picked up another big thing of s1000.. can never have too much of that..

Thanks for the heads up Pete

I hadn't thought much about the foam protector in my coat, but thought this would be a good way to spend some of my Christmas money. I ended up getting this protector for my leather Scorpion coat, and it fits perfectly just like it was made for it. It only cost $45 with today's sale, instead of the usual $90.

I also picked up some nice $100 Frank Thomas gloves for $60.

Still available online for a little while....

opps.. yea i met s100...

also picked up a new pair of summer alpinestars gloves.. nothing special, ill post pics when i get a chance.. great sale though :)

question...how do you get the 25% off? does it do it automatically when check out?

how long is the 25% off good for? i couldnt find an ending date..
