Following lollipop boy's howler in Australia the title is Rossi's to lose. With a 38 point lead he only has to finish ahead of Lorenzo to take the title this weekend.
However we have seen this season that Lorenzo is more than a match for Rossi and with a resurgent Stoner back in the mix this might not happen.
So, if Lorenzo wins the race, Rossi only has to finish 4th or better to take the title.
In the 250s it is not so clear cut. Bautista's 10th this weekend and the red flag that saw Aoyama finish 7th with Simoncelli taking the win means that it might go down to the wire in Valencia. If Aoyama wins this weekend it is all over, but with Simoncelli's current form few would bet on that. Mathematically any one of these three or Hector Barbera could still win it.
