Just got home from a 3 gun competition with my roommate and some of his coworkers - was a blast. It was my first time shooting anything larger a 22 rifle, so that was neat.

Shot a 9mm Sig, 45 Kahr, AR 15- 223, and a Benelli M4 12 Ga.

It was a blast, my pistol skills need a bit of work, I was decent with the rifle, and I never missed a target with the shotgun in all 3 rounds (4 static and one launched clay). Looks like it might be time to get a shotgun of my own. :thumbup:
 
It's all ways fun to spend the day out shooting. :rockon:

I can't afford to shoot anything but a .22 these days.:(

.22's are a must for keeping the skills sharp unless you have piles of money to hand over for ammo. The skills all transfer. Unfortunately, I've become a big fan of Kimber .45's.... expensive hobby. Don't shoot one - you'll like it too much.
 
Before I retired, we had to qualify twice a year. We finally got a supervisor that got us the use of an open range in the middle of friggin no where(about an hours ride from town)....

A full day (8 hours-pack a lunch) of shooting 40 cal auto's, pump shot guns, an array of scenerio's where you had to bail out of the cop car, shoot until the target went down before you could move on to the next target. Started in the daylight, didn't end until after dark so you used your flashlight when shooting too, VERY REALISTIC.. Re-loading while moving to the next target, learned alot in those scenerios, LOTS of fun too!! Learned how to re-load an auto handgun and pump shot gun with one hand (the other hand potentially injured in a fire fight). Amazing stuff...

Free city ammo, their gun and get paid for it too!!

After 25 years, under normal retiement, I got to leave with my city issued 40 cal automatic, with 2 extra clips!!! Haven't shot it since. My baby, is my original, from 1981, Colt 357 Python Magnum. Shooting hollow point magnums, HS, that was fun and so friggin LOUD!!! (We had to buy our own guns and ammo back then before the auto's were issued and mandatory to carry)..

Both are in the safe with all the original paperwork...:thumbup:

You want fun, pick up an AK-47. My favorite rifle over a AR-15. (Carried an m-4 in the military and hated it.) get a large clip and bang out a few mags and you will see.. O yeah, 6$ for a box of plinking ammo.

Pistol: s&w model 386-plus .357mag. 7shot. ;) don't shoot hallow points, I carry HPs, 160gr fire breathers
 
Not exactly in that order, my moto will never gripe and complain about being number 2. Because it won't be hahaha. J/k just remember, that's the most expensive meal you'll ever eat!
 
:rockon:Definitely one of my favorite hobbies! I've got a nice collection in the safe with my Colt AR as my favorite gun to shoot followed closely by my Springfield 1911.

i cant find .22 ammo....

or any other normal handgun caliber for that matter.

oh and yes we like guns. I am a big fan of SIGs, Walthers, and older S&W revolvers. im not the greatest shot but i dont shoot that often anymore. i dont even own a firearm at the present... but thats mainly to do with my living conditions while at school. but if the proverbial feces collide with the rotational oscillation device, things will change in that regard. hopefully that is not the case, however.
 
I have a small collection of firearms.

I used to shoot a lot more than I do now but with the cost of ammo and the state of our world. I'm all about conserving ammunition these days.

I do shoot a lot more muzzleloading rifles lately because it's so cheap to shoot them. I can spend an afternoon shooting for about $15 in powder, I cast my own lead bullets for the muzzleloaders. When you can hit a gallon milk jug from 200 yards with open sights and a primitive rifle you can do a whole lot with a high powered rifle. Aim small, miss small.

Some handguns are simply not accurate.

I have a Sig P229 (.40 S&W) that can barely put 5 shots into a paper plate at 25 feet even when you shoot from a sandbag rest! Then I have a .22LR revolver with target barrel that will put 6 rounds through a milk jug off-hand at 50 yards!
 
I may or may not have guns, and I may or may not enjoy shooting them.

But I live in NY, so it's all a secret because guns are bad mmmkay.

i know tons of people in NY with guns and they seem like respectable folks, its anybody north of that in the GBA (greater boston area, ie. New England) that you have to worry aboot.:BLAA:

but here in the south they hand you one with your drivers license, i guess in case you see a 10pointer on the way home from the store or sum'm lik'at.

Apparently none of us up here can be trusted with anything more than a musket.
