I went to cycle geear and bought a anti fog liner from Fog City and it works great, it sticks to the inside of your face shield, and it was $19.99.

Take a look at this WARMSKIN BALACLAVA from schampa.
It does a great job of blocking out the wind. It is amazing.
It also wicks away the moisture from your breathe,etc., which would otherwise cool you down.
It could cover down into the chest area more but I don't have any big complaints.
It's one of those things that I wish I had bought a long time ago. I am definitely going to use it for besides riding. And no, I won't be using it to rob a bank!

It was 15% off and then I had an AMA discount, so it was like $14 shipped.

That baclava (sp.) looks great, my old one is thick and makes knots in my head, even with real short hair. I'm ordering one in the morning.:thumbup:

It won't quit, unless you really have MAJOR draw on it maybe, but it just wouldn't start again. You'd have to have an aweful lot of stuff running to get it drawn down that far in a long day or 2 of riding though...

Thanks -- good to know. So I can ride with the heated jacket on (and my voltmeter showing red) just as long as I don't turn off the bike before it charges (and voltmeter turns back to green).

I have been using a neck gator this year and seems like I am just as warm without being squeezed by my helmet.

Does this work for any helmet? Sounds like a relatively inexpensive solution.

I just got the pinlock visor and insert for my Shoei RF-1000 (for about $70 shipped). This is the first time I've had my visor completely closed for an extended period of time on the highway. I kinda miss that cold air. But I bet when it gets in the 30s, I'll get used to it . I think the pinlock visor should've come with the helmet.

I tried the fog city liners several years ago when they first came out. For preventing fogging, they worked well. What I didn't like was the glare when riding at night with on-coming traffic. Since then, I use a product called Anti-Fog that you rub on the inside of the shield. The downside is that you need to re-apply every couple of days.

Recently got Gerbings G3 gloves and jacket liner and dual portable controller.

Each product comes with a battery harness, so installed one on FZ6 and one on VTX1800. Have ran them both on my otherwise electrically stock FZ6 without issue. I should note though it was only in the low 40s, and the gerbings stuff is HOT!, so I only ran it about 1/4 power. I'm sure this is a consideration though--when will you really run that product at full power using all watts?

Gerbings does say to start bike before connecting, and to disconnect before stopping bike. To be safe I'll probably turn them off a couple miles from my destination to ensure battery has a little time to recover. No issues thus far.

I ordered myself a balaclava (sp?) a couple of days ago and I'm waiting for it to arrive with my new rain jacket (thx FZinNH), a pair of overpants and a pair of overgloves.

Just before I got rearended I had purchased a powerlet heated gloves. I only wore them twice and I don't think I'll put them on again. Don't get me wrong - they are AWESOME in terms of keeping you warm and dry BUT they are so damn thick I can't feel how much I'm spinning the throttle. This in turn makes me squeeze it more and I get some bad wrist cramps and a bad riding posture (too much tension on the bars). I will give my summer vented gloves covered with the rain overgloves a shot when they arrive.

I rode in my summer gear last night (36F) and I had to stop twice to warm up my hands on the exhaust ... perforated summer gloves just don't work with cold weather ... go figure

One brand is called Hippohands.... LEOs around here use them in the winter so they can still write tickets easily....
